Unhappy Water leaking from eBrake?? HEEELP!!

OK, so I have an 04 5AT which I bought brand new and have around 20k miles on after 13 months. During our loooong drive to Valley Forge Park in Pennsylvania for the Tri-State Meet (NY G squad, PA G squad and the National G club), about 3-4 hrs into our drive I noticed a drop or two of water on my leg. After inspecting, I noticed the Ebrake pedal had water on it which would drip down and roll off onto my left leg. It was a steamy 95+ degrees with ridiculous amounts of humidity, however I have never had this problem before. More water would drip during acceleration or hard turns and stops. I am curious to know if anyone has ever heard of, or had this type of experience w/ their G. I also noticed when switching the AC onto the lower body portion that the leaking/build up of water increased. The problem didnt reoccur today, however I am wondering if the long drive had anything to do with it.

Once I reached my destination I then realized my Key FOB stopped working as well. When I returned home later from the meet, my 2nd key FOB was also NOT working. NONE of the 2 key FOBs buttons were working.....I thought maybe the leaking water shorted the G's wires/alarm sensors??

I also took a 3-4 hr. trip to the beach about 3-4 weeks ago however did NOT encounter this problem. I looked today to see where water could possible be accumulating from or leaking from, but other than a few electrical wires and what have you I didnt see any hoses.

Going to the dealer tomorrow, for rear axle clicking issue as well as the drivers seat shifting around issue all on the TSB site. I will have them add this problem to the list of things....

I've had it too, it was just humidity from the vent. It never shorted anything.

anybody else?!?! Thanks TimW for the reply...dealer states its the from the sun roof, the service rep (female) stated 'there are NO leak problems with this car (the G). she sounded so confident and ****y that i had to put her in her place...'well now that u mention it, i DO get a leak from the passenger side window anytime i go through a car wash...'

Is the sunroof really the cause for the leak?!?!

initially i thought it's only condensation from the vents of the ac, but if you got major leakage or dripping from somewhere else, then it might be another issue. i think you're the first one i read with this kind of problem here on this board, so yeah it must not be a known issue with the G. good luck w/ the dealer.

I had "drips" onto my legs as well - had to be the humidity and the fact that my AC was on full blast for hours at a time...no fob problems though..?

Man Puria sorry to hear that sucks. I didnt have any problems but I also didnt have my AC on full blast. Maybe on the 1-2 speed for the AC.

However Jon got the drippin as well but where was his coming from if he's got a 6mt. You sure it was from around the ebrake?

Sounds to me like your A/C isn't draining properly and leaking into the cabin, which may have shorted some of the BCM module controls. There's a lot of wiring in that area near the e/brake.
Have the dealer trace back where the moisture is coming from and fix it.

THANKS Gsedanman, thats exactly what my father said (retired mechanic). However after explaining that to the dealer...they were looking at me like im retarded even though I know more about car maintenance and service than half the tech's back in the bay...
