Not buying it. First off the rotors on a Vette do rust relatively quick but not that quickly and to that degree, I've had a 99 Vette for 3yrs and my rotors only look like that after it has not been driven for several weeks. Even if they did there should be some water elsewhere on the car or the area around the car. Secondly, the guy has just crashed his Vette, you "helped him out of his car" yet he finds time to whip out a bungie cord and lashes it to the front of the Vette. Third, why is the radiator fan lying under the Vette and not in the ditch he supposedly cleaned out? And finally, you stated "He falls off the road into the ditch on the right." the Vette is clearly not in a ditch unless Marlyland ditches are paved. I smell Bull$hit. And a poser.

Quick update, as far as the liscence plate / addie thing, it can't be done... or so they say. Interestingly enough, the driver of the vette was only 16!?! and was driving the car home from an impound off of 198 for his dad who was "at work." Whatever happened, the father contacted the police and the police contacted me and asked if I wanted to discuss the matter at a near by starbucks (me and the "father" of the kid), in Burtonsville crossings (198/29) intersection. I agreed, and met him there around 7:30 this evening. The father seemed a lot more "intelligent and civilized." He apologized and even bought me a venti mint mocha chip frap He explained that the vette was his, and was impounded in mid-July due to his suspended liscence (was caught driving). He was suspended for a month, and could not pick up his car because the tow company would not allow it. So the car sat in the impound lot collecting fees and $$$. He sent his son to pick up his car earlier, but because the owner's liscence was still suspended, he couldn't pick up the car. He sent his son to pick it up today, only to find that this happened. Funny thing is that the guy lives off of 198, and you don't have to take the highway (29) to get to his house. His kid was just joyriding around... As far as the comments about the cord thingy around the front of the car, I just noticed that too. I guess the tow company is to blame for the front bumper? I just have no clue. Anyways, the dad was a cool guy and this is yesterday's news.

Bull**** story.
This has all been said before -- but to sum up:
1. The car is not in a ditch
2. The rotors are rusted, this only happens if the brakes have not been used in a while -- they did not look like this after being driven and you just "jumped out" and snapped a picture.
3. There is a bungee cord attached to the bumper. So the kid wrecked the car and jumped out with a bungee cord he just happened to have, and while yelling at you applied it to the car?
4. That picture is clearly of a car that was towed and dropped off in someones driveway.
5. Said driveway was near a lawn that was mowed at least a day or so ago as there is grass and leaves blown under the car and on top of the fan which is resting on the ground.
Why did you make this up? If you wanted attention why not just ask for it? At the very least don't insult the intelligence of others and find a better picture on the Internet next time.
I'm cross posting this on the Corvette forums; I would assume we will find the original owner of the picture sooner or later. Might as well fess up now, the circle of people laughing at you will only get larger as I post this thread on other boards.
