Winter wheels/tires... Help!

has anyone purchased a wheel/tire package for an '05 coupe with 19's??

i searched the archives and noted posts which suggested using tirerack.com and entering specs for an '04 coupe with 18's... this led me to a winter setup of 17" alloys and rubber sized at 225/50-17 front, 225/55-17 back...

i called tirerack and the rep (only mildly helpful) pointed out that the '05 coupe requires a staggered winter tire setup, something not necessary on the '04... specifically, 225/50-17 front and 235/50-17 back...

can anyone verify/refute which of the above is required... same size all around gives me more options (i.e., the Dunlop Winter Sport M3 isn't available in 235) and better prices, particularly with regard to the alloys...

thanks for the feedback

thanks... that's good to know... my concern was that the tirerack.com website and customer service rep BOTH said the '05 coupe/6MT with 19's REQUIRES a staggerred setup in a winter package... thus the source of my confusion...

Actually 225/50 f 225/55 r seems to be the most popular winter setup. I have run those sizes the last 3 winters.

have you try this setting for 05 ? i think 05 has different suspension setting right ?
if 05 requires 235 for rear then i'm screwed lol i bought four 17x7jj oem rims and far as i know 7jj can go up to 225...
can someone else confirm this ? will 05 be fine with 225/50/17 225/55/17 ?

Haven't tried it yet, but I will starting Nov. The suspension setting doesn't matter only the tire diameter does. 225/55 or 235/50 rears would both be fine.

i'd be curious to see how it works out for those who will be using 225s on all fours, because the folks at tirerack said the '05 coupe (unlike the '04 coupe) HAD to be fit with a staggered setup... when i asked him why that was the case he said it had something to do with "load"... not at all sure what he was talking about

anyway the price differential and wheel/tire options are favorable for the setup that has 225s all around... but unless convinced it's ok otherwise, i guess i'll go with what the aftermarket "experts" recommend...
