road feel difference between 40mph & 80+mph on 19" wheels
i recently upgraded my stock 17" wheels & tires on my spanking new 05 lakeshore slate to 19" inchers aftermarket wheels with 245/35/19 dunlop direzza on all four corners. i can definitely say 17" are a lot smoother on all speed but the new 19"s handle corners a lot better.
my question to anybody who has 19"s on their Gs is, do you feel substantial road feel difference with speeds of 40mph and 80+mph in terms of smoothness? the reason i'm asking is i'm a little bit leery about my new wheel balance. i feel a very minor vibration on my steering wheel at 80+mph but i can't really discern if it is really the road feel due to lower profile tires or my wheels need more balancing.

Is it a constant vibration? There's a section on the I90 that causes my steering wheel to vibrate. My wheels and tires are balanced and the vibration only occurs on this section of the road. You will feel more of the road due to the loss of side wall. Also keep in mind that trameling (sp) becomes more pronounced when you widen your tires, increase spring rates, or dampener rates. On some streets, I dare let go of my steering wheel for fear of going into another lane. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. It means my suspension mods are making sure the front and rear tires are staying planted, albeit following every groove in the road.
No vibration here, but you will get some road surface feedback through the steering wheel, if that's what you're feeling. If it shakes back and forth then it probably an imbalance. If it's a vibration like, well, a vibrator but not as severe, then it's just the car talking back with you.

the hunter balancer costs $100+ in my neck of the woods. however, since i'm not fully satisfied with the current situation, i 'll just go back to whoever mounted my tires and let them re-balance it and if they can't balance them to my satisfaction then i'll request a refund and head to a hunter balancer. thx for all the inputs...

BTW, I have 20's and no vibration at all.
6th bolt on front axle
i also had an issue putting my new wheels on the front axles. i had to take off the '6th' bolt. do you have any idea what's the sixth bolt for? since i took them off, are they possibly causing the very slight vibration on my steering wheel?

I can't believe someone would own a near 40k car and think $100 is too much to get a proper ride. If that's what it takes then that's what it takes. Don't be cheap. I'm not saying to throw away money but I can't understand a Civic attitude from a G35 owner.
Check your tire pressure.
$100 shouldn't be a bad price for demanded perfection when it comes to something as important as wheels and tires.
But it shouldn't even cost you that.. Go to an STS near you or something. I got mine balanced there with their Hunter machine and it only cost me 52 bucks.
