Big problem in my G today
Add one more TB to the list of bad ones. I had mine do the "limp home mode" yesterday. Kinda scary since I was pulling into oncoming traffic. This is the third time ,mine has done it. I thought, like some of the oters here it was heat related, but it was only about 82 yesterday. I'll be going to the dealer on Monday, has anybody had any problems with their dealer because of an aftermarket plenum? Just curious, the service guy said it shouldn't be a problem but at 700+ for parts...shouldn't be doesn't make me feel very good.

Me too. However, my Throttle Body sensor problem is less server. It only causes me a "service engineer soon" light on and a not so smooth acceleration here and there. But my problem is this happened 2ice in the last 3 months. I just dropped it at the dealer this morning and he called me about 2 hours later to let me know it's the same problem as last time. I asked if there is something else that might have cause the TBS to break and he doesn't know. Anyone have any idea? btw, my car is 100% stock and I had it since 1/2005 and about 10k miles on it. thanks.

In my case, it was a bum throttle body.

Same issue here as well. I have about 6800 miles on my '05 and once in a while I see the VDC off, Slip, and SES lights on. Now it says to "Service Engine Soon". I'm taking it into the dealership tomorrow morning. They say that it may be caused by low brake-fluids; I'm hoping that this is the case since that's an extremely quick fix. I hope my throttle body sensor isn't shot yet.
I'll find out and repost to update my situation.

I was hoping some of you could give me some insight as to what could be causing this. The only thing I did do today was fill it up with gas. That is when the trouble started later in the day. Yes, I used premium 93 at shell. Could a bad tank of gas cause this?

I have a question. Does everyone who have a TBS problem happen to have a dirty air filter? I just realized mine is very dirty even though it only has 12K miles on it and the manual says change it at 15 K.
Another guess, I wash my car myself and many times I accidentally spray water through the grille into the engine compartment. Can this be a potential cause for TBS breakdown?

I brought my car into the dealership today and it's confirmed that the throttle body went bad.
To recap, the VDC OFF, Slip, and SES lights were illuminated. This eventually led to the "Service Engine Soon" light being illuminated. Brought the car into the dealer early in the morning and they fixed it up in less than an hour.
Good stuff.

I was lucky that they had the part on hand. Going in at 7:30am in the morning helped also (first customer of the day).
I think my car had a faulty throttle body from the day of purchase. Now that it's replaced, I can really hear the air flowing and now it doesn't struggle to move in 1st gear. Thank goodness.
