m45 vs 6mt g35c?
i've been toying with the idea of getting an m45 recently... how do these two cars compare to each other? i know i'm comparing apples vs oranges, but is the m45 as much fun to drive? one thing i like a lot about my G is how much fun it is on weekend drives, when its just me and an open twisty road... then how comfortable it can be to go to work the next day... i know that on the luxury front, the m45 is in another league, but how is the funfactor? is it an all around superior car to a 6mt G..? or just a different car with different strengths and weaknesses?
i cant test drive an m45 right now so i'd appreciate hearing thoughts from anyone who's driven both...

I have test driven the M35 luxury and M35 Sport. I understand the M45 is a very quick car, but the handling characteristics will be about the same as the M35. I too have been intriguied into making the change over to the M. I test drove the M35 4 times and loved the luxury, gadgets, rear view backup screen and seats that cooled off your behind. However, I could not get used to the handling characteristics that are lost from the change from the G35 Coupe to the M. The car is heavier and you notice this when accelerating onto a ramp while entering or exiting a freeway. Too much body roll for me. You realize immediately this is a big tourer! The brakes are fantastic and the ride is confortable. However, the trade off for the handling and more conservative looks has left me thinking. Luxo versus sport. The jury is still out for me. I'm not jumping to make the change right now.

This comparison can only be realized with a extensive and thorough test drive. You need to have a salesperson who is patient and allows you to go close to the limits with the M. It is very important to take this car on a Highway and the more twists the better. It was at this point for me, that I realized how the G sticks to the road without having that feeling that I am sliding sideways out of my seat. I don't want to stray here, but other than a BMW, or possibly an Audi A8 Quattro, it is hard to compare a sedan to the handling characteristics of a lower sprung sports oriented rear wheel drive car like the G. I don't think the M was designed to be compared to the G for handling. It handles fine, but not great. However if luxury and gadgets is what you like, than that is what you will get. The bottom line as I mentioned before...... If you really want to know, test drive the M thoroughly.
