Smile Bose Radio Hack

Due to my every growing curiosity to hack things, I believe most electronic devices have diagnostic or maintenance modes. I found them in my old car, as well as other devices at home & office. So a few weeks after got my G, when I had some free time I’d start using different sequence on the radio to see what happens. Well today at lunch I found something, looks like diagnostic codes, possible versioning, I’m not sure if there changeable, I’ll let you guys provide your input. SO here we go:

1. Your car can be in the ACC or Running.
2. With the radio OFF hold down the Numbers “1” and “6” at the same time until the display shows a code, mine displayed “AU 033”
3. now you can browse through all the code by pressing the power button on the radio, the display times out after a few seconds if no feedback is given but remains in diagnostic mode until the car is powered off
4. On certain menu choices you can press the CD button and toggle other choices

I guess I have to state this: I’m not liable for messing up any ones systems, but this process seems rather harmless. Let me know what you think!

You clearly have too much time on your hands... Did you try this with everything in your car? I wonder if we hold down the window button while we open and close door, and then cycle the center homelink button twice, with the gas pedal down, with the passenger seat warmer on, and then start the car will it make the headlights flash an SOS code.... LOL

The Grand Prix with digital climate control could access service engine soon codes during the maintenance mode operation. Don't overestimate it's use guys.

Check this. Figured this out on a chewing gum break at work. I just clicked the door unlock twice and turned up the volume to 50 on the Bose and flipped my mirror control UP.

NOW IVE GOT LAMBO DOORS BABY!

Now I have to figure out how the hell to disable it!

I did this while napping in my car on break:

Roll the window down and air comes in!

Honk when you see hot girls and I guarantee you they will look!

And the best one...Recline the seat all the way back, and honk three times. Your car will transform into a Ferrari!

Just pullin your leg mang....sounds like its just a BOSE diagnostic but nothing that will be able to "improve" your system since its supposedly already the "best"...let us know though what you find, mainly:

1) How to make CD text scroll?
2) Random Mode fix
3) +5 bug

what exactly is the +5 bug? you figure bose would have figured out scrolling text and random mode, it would be the least they couldve done.
