Ahh the japanese supercars of the 90's... When the asian/japanese $/economy seemed bullet proof and they tried to build cars to compete against the europeans for their own asian market... (IE Lexus is another example) Even Yamaha tried a race car and i think they came up with the 3 seat arrangement before McLaren.
Those cars BTW were never meant for north americans and europe, that's why nissan never bothered to make a left hand drive skyline. The skylines had the best 4wd and 4ws and costed more than any other japanese supercar at the time. It was rumoured that Nissan lost money with every sale of the R34.
The G35 is a bit of a miss for nissan and can't be consider a skyline IMO.
Going from an inline 6 to a v6 and the body style change deviated too much from the R34.
There is a skyline following of some sort. In canada, people can finally import the R32 because it is over 15 years old. And they cannot find enough in japan to fill the orders.
I wouldn't count out a G35 following though. Not until this model/style is discontinued. The new real skyline just looks hideous (thanks to renault?).
