A "safer" place to try it is headin from SoCal to Vegas....only thing to worry bout would be the cops...
I have seen the pictures after a 90+ mph crash with some trees. Not only are there only small bits and pieces of the car, the occupants were obviously instantly and permanently dead, leaving behind a young son who will never again see his parents.

actually the 60 is "safer" place..

vegas free way = 2 lanes + emergency lane.. w/ trucks
60 = 5 lanes + carpool + emergency lane w/ trucks only on the right 3 lanes

I know that stretch, I live in Chino Hills. Just before that area, when you're still on the 71, its a nice place to open up as the freeway is fairly new. Still those speeds are crazy, like old boy above said, one pothole and its over.

You forgot to add potholes/bumps/etc to the 60, which immediatley deems it NOT SAFE.

And right when you leave Vegas headin back to SoCal, its about 4 lanes wide too, with a plain view of MANY miles ahead which makes you feel you aren't driving fast enough when in reality you maybe be already doing 80-100mph...wierd how that works.

based on a 5at with rear tires 285/35/19....you should reach 206.5 mph.

I found this link in this forum. I love driving fast too. After viewing these photos, it's gotta make you rethink things just a bit. I spent about a 1/2 and hour going through my favorite cars. I have to admit, it takes some ***** drivng really fast, but ***** are only useful when you're alive right?

I think it's a little too fast on public road, you may kill someone and regret it for life. it's something that money can't buy. Take it to the track next time.

Sent in by a cop in Central Florida:

This was the end result of a street race on a major highway.
