You know why rally cars whine so much? Because the transmissions are built to be beaten with gearing that is cut straight to enable clutchless shifting. Splined synchro gears in traditional transmissions shift more smoothly, more easily and more quietly. Forcing splined gears together without your clutch is like lighting your wallet on fire.

Correct me if I'm wrong with regard to the mechanical differences.

DO NOT POWER SHIFT UNLESS YOUR RACING SOMEONE FOR THEIR: money, car, girl, house, dog, cat, kid, ur *****

edit: plus it wont make any diff anyways unless its like 05 6MT G35 vs 05 6MT G35

 

driver skill will play more into a race than power shifting. You may want to get a clutch stop to reduce the amount of travel your clutch pedal goes through.
