Dealer sucks *** - RANT
one word can describe this.... WTF!
Short version... car has 28k miles. Decided to take it in for 30k service. Had a few problems on the car and wanted to address it to the dealer.
List of issues i came in to the dealer with:
-driver seat sqeaks when you sit in it/while drive
-sunroof has been slow opening/closing and kinda grinding due to all the dust on track.
also wanted to have them change my Automatic tranny fluid and coolant, which is suppose to be part of the 30k serive. I use synthetic oil and told them not to touch it since i just had it replaced.
Well $493 dollars later i get my car.
As i'm about to leave i see my car has grease stain all over my seats. Black and oily. Then as i get out of the car to wipe it off i see more grease on the windows/roof and all over the sunroof(glass) trunk and parts of body panels. Call the guy to see if he can clean it. But by the looks of it seems to be deep into pain and even with his cleaner its smudgine and not coming off. Ok as he leaves, i decide to pop the hood and as i'm looking around i see soo much dirt clumps of it i'm puzzled. whatever not a big deal. as i'm about to close the hood.. i notice i have NO COOLANT what so ever in the tank. WTF??? they forgot to add it. Then they charged me for oil change i asked them not to do. I dont even know if they did anything to the car at this point. The 50$ dollar amsoil that i put in might have goten drained. No clue if they did a full flush from the radiator. PLUS i spent about 4 hrs trying to degrease thecar... and i was only able to do windows.. and even they are still FUBARED.
Nissan/Infiniti wants to go to them to get service and meet minimum warranty requirements... and in return they mess things up. WTF... i never brought my car to dealer before unless it was some sort of defect, and now after what happen i completly refuse to do it.
If i didnt check under the hood i would have pretty much overheated by the time i got home.
Be like me and listen to what your mind telling you to do... do the work yourself.

They gave me $20 on my card. But i could care less at this point. cause i rahter loose 20 and not have this happen.
They never finished cleaning the car, the seat parts are on back order so i would have to give the car to them again.
Now i will take the car to another shop and have them inspect things to see if they were really done. I mean small things like being careful is the least of their worries. To them i'm just another car and more money in theri pocket. to me its my car and something i care about.
I'm just waiting for that questionaire to come back so i can rip them a new one. The fact that putting grease on sunroff turned into a disaster and fubared other things shows their lack of commitment to do their best.
I now regret telling them i had no coolant. I rather would have overheated and blown the motor due to their stupidity

Sounds like you need to rip the service department a new one. Start with the customer satisfaction survey. When you get the survey in the mail bring it to the service manager and explain how he is going to make up for your lousy service. Suggest that if you wern't made happy that you feel obligated to send in the survey filled out appropriately. The survey is your ammo.
For the future..When you bring your car..document the condition of your car. Walk around your car w/ the service writer. Include the service that you want to be done. Type it out and make it look good. Tell the service writer what you expect and that you will accept no less. Have the service writer read & sign the document. If the servive dept expects you to sign a document authorizing service to be performed then they can sign your documentation. This will encourage them to take you seriously.
Just my suggestions.. and will not work for everyone.

Well i will be making a phone call to them tomm about this. I tried as much as i can to get the grease off but i just dont know what it is. I mean i tried degreaser and bug tar remover and windex and other cleaners and all it does it smudges it more.
Thing is i just clay bared the car and waxed it a week ago and they happens. I mean what i said is just some things. They didnt really do the small stuff like lubricating door hinges and sunroof like needed and a few minor things. They drained my washer fluid.. which was filled to the top with $5 batch of RainX stuff with crap they use. I mean shiet like that bugs me.
I will take your advise on it and do that for next time. I think its a great idea. I could have used that advise other times when i was at dealers where were you then I"m just wondering how they will look at me after i do that. as you said they might not go for it since that basically puts them liable for things. I will however log a complain with them about stains and lack of coolant.

My old 328 had the 60k mile service and cost me $450. How the hell is it that much for the infiniti. I have always been expected higher maintanence bills with a BMW, but with an infiniti. That is one of the main reasons I got rid of the BMW. Infiniti dealerships are trying to screw infiniti buyers. This is 1 case. The other case is parts. The nearest infiniti dealer to me is about 2hrs. away, so if I need parts I usually go to the nissan dealer in town. I ordered a new in-cabin micro filter from nissan. They said the infiniti dealer had one in stock for $45, but they could get me one for $35. It was the same damn part number, same filter, same part. Also got some new gaskets for cats, same deal, about $10 higher at infiniti. I'll give all my business to the local nissan dealer, much more friendly as well.

I dunno where you are, but to my experience the nissan dealers are really bad around here.
I usually never had any issues with this Infiniti dealer, but last year they got bought out by another company and i guess now its a whole different ball game. Before i use to get itemised paper work, now i just get what was charged. Service deff took the dive in my view.
