observation about windows
I just been searching for a old post for the last 30 min...
I remember reading a post about the "window drop" when you open the door.
The guy was asking if it was normal that driver window only drop a 1/4 of a inch while the pasenger drop 1/2 @ 3/4 of a inch. Well, i just noticed I have the same problem and I dont remember what other member had to say. (DOH!)
Is this normal? does your 2004 coupe windows react the same?

I never compared the driver to passenger side windows, but I'm pretty sure they drop the same amount, and it's less than 1/4 inch. 1/2 to 3/4 inch sounds strange... that's a huge drop.
I am pretty sure it's the passenger side that it's ok with its 1/2 of a inch.
This morning I noticed that if I just put my hand on the driver window once the door is open it goes down a bit more, about the same distance as the passenger side.
The car is still on warenty but have so many little things like that, dealers is going to bang is head on wall the next time I call him for a apointement....
-Window drop problem
-rooking driver seat (TSB)
-loose weatherstrip on passenger side, refuse to stay snaped to body frame
-fuel tank shutter valve (TSB)
and a few more...

I think its pretty much of a common thing for the drivers side to open less. I replaced my drivers side motor, and it only drops about an 1/8" compared to the passenger side which drops about 1/4"
I now just tap my drivers side window switch so it drops the window just enough to dis-engage the auto down feature. It really comes in handy during the winter months when the windows tend to freeze.

you wrote something interesting....
My english is not perfect so I just want to be sure I understand correclty.
"In winter you just drop the window intentionaly a bit and leave it there just to clear the roof molding and to prevent "automatic drop" to work?"
That's a really interesting idea, I dont have a garage and live in Canada (bad winter) and I am scared of how all those automatic window movement is going to work In ice and real cold weather.
