DIY: LED Coupe Clear Corners

Since I know many of the members here don't frequent the exterior mod forum. I am X-posting my DIY on LED Clear Corners for the coupe.

Enjoy.

It is really hard to replicate how bright they are with my lack of camera skills. Trust me though they are REAL bright.

Hi PeteNJ,

Nice work!!

Have you made a PCB for this yet? If not, I am willing to create one. Maybe we can make assembled units including the side markers. I am an electrical engineer and have the tools and resources for making this a product. That would be pretty cool.

Have you encountered any electrical issues with this design, such a leakage current or current paths that affect other components on the car?

Thanks,
Ray

Very nice. Thanks for the DIY.

So how many volts is going through the stock signal light? Is it 12? And how many volts are the LEDs designed to run off of? I'm new at this, but I've got an idea for these LEDs.

Ray, I wish I could have a printed PCB for this project. It would have made life A LOT easier. If you have a source who could do this I would be very interested. All that copper wiring and solder is ghetto haha. My goal is to convert all the bulbs in this car into LED. I will send you a PM.

Smoked,

Yes you can. You would just use white Hi flux or white 5mm LEDs instead of the amber ones I used.

EK,
If you look at the wiring diagram on my DIY you will see that source voltage is actually around 14.4V. You need to get the proper resistors to prevent this current from burning out the LEDs. That site I pointed out has a neat LED array calculator which does all the work for you. BTW, I have some questions about your projector retro I will PM you about. Thanks
