Goo Gone should have done the trick. I use a Citrus base adhesive remover which I assume Goo Gone is. Looks like you've worked it so hard that you scratched the surface. Also, my buddy at the sign shop used this stuff you apray on the surface. Not sure what it's called. but it's so cold when applied, it removes any residue that may still be intacked.

Next time use some WD40. It will not harm the plastic, and it will disolve the residue with out having to scrub.......

Goo gone and Goof off may attack plastic parts and actually melt the surface plastic.....if that's what happened, nothing will restore the finish except sanding down the entire area to remove the frosting......and then repolishing the entire plastic cover to restore the finish......There are several good plastic polishes on the market. 3M makes Infiniti recommended cleaner/polishes for plastic cleaning.....check out their website or any of the wholesale web pages for automotive products.....

Sounds like you may have messed the headlight up for good.....
any deep scratches may not be able to be removed.....

Ebuy,
I will have a set of headlights available in about a month ( I will be using them as a temporary set while I retrofit my current set with projectors). If you can hold out that long I can sell you those. I live right outside of NYC as well. Let me know

i used the blue magic plastic cleaner and polish. i used the mag cleaner., iwet sannded it no help. it made it a little better but still my plastinc was eaten away. i took my car to a specialist and he said it wasnt the goo gone that killed me he said the eyelids adhesive glue/sticker ate away my plastic when put under the sun or heat. and i live in NewYork and boy was this summer hot, he said i probably need a new lamp. so unfortunatly it wasnt the googone that killed me, im so devistated . who knows where i can get a housing or healdight assemply with out the hids for a good price?
