plastic behind gas pedel

OK... Today I noticed something weird on my gas pedal. There's a plastic piece attached to the rear of the gas pedal that actually looks like it could be hindering me from flooring the gas all the way. Is this normal? My digital camera isn't charged so I can't take any pics of it.

If you remove it then you can press the pedal down further and the car will be faster.

Pedal depth is irrelevant. It is not a cable - but an electrical potentiometer. When it's calibrated it senses bottom and top. So whatever the bottom is when it's cal'd then that's the extreme end of the throttle. Lowering the pedal will do nothing - if not confuse the computer!

Where do you guys get some of this stuff?

It's on the manual too... and your throttle is fully open already. My guess is that it is there to stop the pedal from getting stuck on anything, which could happen if the pedal was actually touching the floor.

A lot of cars have this. Sometimes it is a little rubber bumper that sticks up from behind the pedal. It's like a stopper so if you jam down on the pedal it won't hit the floor.

Oh this mod is the shit yo! It's the 1st thing I did, as soon as I got my car home from the dealership. Now my car revs so quick, and I can stay in each gear longer!
