Anyways you can spent thousands of dollars on simple "bolt on mods". Like High-flow cats/testpipes, headers, ypipe, exhausts, plenum/spacer, intakes. And that will probably get you to 40-60HP to the wheel AT MOST. If your going to drop $5000 on these simple mods, might as well go FI. You will get 5x-8x what you can gain on the bolt on mods. But if your those type of people who want to car to sound mean and aggresive, these bolt on mods will do the trick!
Even with all the mods listed I'd be surprised to see 20rwhp...I have testpipes, exhaust, CAI, plenum, and racing pulleys and I'm only willing to say I "maybe" have 20hp to the flywheel...then again I could be wrong...I wish I was wrong

Thanks everyone,

Turbos and superchargers sound very tempting, but, I gotta pay for college some time.

I'll just stick with the NA stuff.

Since it seems that I won't be getting alot more power out of the VQ, I'll just post my order with HRE tommrow....

ok so I am being an azz, but if boltons can add up to 60 hp and you can get up to 8 times that with FI, that would put you at 480 additional horse power with FI.

when did such a marvelous turbo or supercharger come out?

your also being an optimist. lets work with the high end of one and the low end of the other, or the low end of one and the high end of the other (i.e. 60hp x 5 and 40hp x 8). that's a 300hp to 320hp gain. baselining around 220 - 240whp. that would net you around 560hp at most. sounds like a greddy tt setup to me.

So I could get a Greddy TT setup w/ stock everything else? I may need to rethink my planned mods. Maybe I'll just stick with added sound for now and go w/ a Z tube. I've already got a JW pop charger.

From what I have read, Vortech is the safest FI product out thus far.

N2O is a cheap easy way to add a lot of power. YOu may just destroy your engine if not properly tuned

Most, if not all FI applications are safe if tuned properly. In the same regard, most FI applications are dangerous if tuned improperly. You get the picture....

Thats why I drove from Florida to North Carolina to have CP Racing install and tune by Vortech. It was certainly worth it...

Just an FYI. If you are ever planning on using a supercharger, go ahead and replace your stock headers. You're better off having the best ones you can get.

With all due respect...I don't feel that you need to replace the headers at all. I didn't. Obviously it helps with the airflow but there is also a big debate on the good benefits on limited back flow with a supercharger. In any regards...the Crawford headers (equal length) are above and beyond all the other headers but, beyond being the most expensive, its also one which requires the installer to lift the engine. Getting Crawford headers is an expensive mod...one which I felt was not worth it with my supercharger.
