Will mods void warranty???
I was wanting to put a couple small things on my coupe. All I really need to know right now is if the z tube and a pop charger will void anything. Thats the big question. But then will exahust and other mods void it, please clear this up for me
A lot depends upon the relationship you have with your Dealer. If you only take your car in for warranty work, they can make life misereable for you.
From a legal perspective, a company can only legally void a warranty if they can prove that the modification directly lead to the part failure; that's not easily done. So if they deny a warranty claim, you can sue them for relief. They are however banking on the fact that you won't bother to go through the hassel.
I bought three Porsches from the same Dealer and I made a point of cultivating a good relationship with the service team to the point where I knew all of the Porsche certified mechanics by their first name. I never had any warranty work denied by them despite adding numerous mods, but I never did anything extreme like adding FI.

it really depends on the relationship you have with the dealership / service consultant.. i've heard of people getting crap for having mods on their cars in regards to warranty work, but even with the mods i have, i've never been denied any warranty work.. bare in mind, i don't have anything extreme like FI, but i completely agree with FAST1..
i just recently read over on my350z.com that somebody was denied warranty work for having aftermarket rims.. go figure..

You'll pay a few bucks for the install but that's worth peace of mind in the event warranty work pops up.
Same with the exhaust work. Most would probably need help with the install, so why not get the dealer to install it for you.....
It worked well for me, and he charged me a fair install price.
