even when i turn vdc off..i still feel it kicking in!! how can i turn it off completely..i know that on the 350z u have to remove the brake lights or somethng but is there a way on te g?

they make a chip that turns it off when you start up the car. Look in the FGC forums

Why would you even want to do that? It's there for a reason, and it's not like you're going to drag race your car day in and day out (that is of course unless you are). I'm thankful that I even have it (during the rainy season).

I agree, you shouldn't defeat a system that may save your butt one day......it really is worth it's weight in gold.......

There are 2 fuses in the fues block next to the battery that will disable the whole system. But I caution you to be very careful doing so.

What do you guys mean by 'turning it off completely'? When it's off, isn't it off? When mine is off, I can slip and slide all day long. Sometimes, on a launch with VDC off, my lsd tries to grab and I feel a series of 'thumps'. Is that we're talking about here?

I understand, and that's cool bro. Another reason to completely disable the VDC is for drag racing and other track events, where you don't want any part of the system interfearing with slippage of any kind.

I just warned against perhaps forgetting to enable the system again after the 'fun'.
None of us here want you, or anyone else, to have a problem after disabling the system, and none of us here can be seen to condone such activities that may put you in danger.

Do you know what fuses they are? Ive heard that will do the trick when I go to the track and get in the water box.

I think someone said it was the ABS fuse, but that fuse is linked with IGN

I have No problem doing donuts or drifting with vdc off. The only time it kicks in with vdc on is when go out of control like doing 360s and stuff, you feel the brake pedal tap by itself. But if it was me i Would never want it completely off. Again you can do burnouts and donuts with no problem when the vdc is off.

you are still able to do donuts and slide with the VDC switch turned off, but you cant do a burnt out... meaning a brake stance... meaning sitting in one spot one foot on the brakes and the other on the gas and spinning the tires like crazy. at least not in a 6MT

In my 03 i had no problems doing 360's , 720's or even 1080's +. With VDC off I can 360 forever. It was used and had crappy tires in the back. After I got new tires, i never did it again. On my new 05, I have never done it. For some reason I am babying this one. This car will b my finest project.

at the very least, they should have had a memory feature for it.. If you turn it off, it should stay off.. It annoys me that i turn it off and when i shut the car off I have to turn it off again. I'm kind of used to, get in the car, start her up, seat belt, then lean over to turn off vdc. Its my normal tradition when i start my car.. This is just my opinion though but if you turn it off, i think it should stay off and when you need it, hit the button again to get it back.. I was at an autocross and I forgot to turn it off when i restarted my car between runs and heats, and needless to say, the car bogged when i stared to launch.. throttle was cut off and i swear i almost slammed my head into the steering wheel. At least that's what it felt like cause i simultaneously leaned forward to turn off the vdc.. Yeah its a good thing, but I personally think its annoying.. The car has power and torque, but not enough to scar the living crap out of you and as far as handling in the rain, it's absolutely fine.. I drive with VDC in the dry and the rain, partly because its a habit of shutting it off, but I don't know about the snow. I have a second car for the winter, but ill take the G out a couple times to do some drifting in the parking lots and stuff, so ill have a better idea of how the rubber is in the snow....
