Why do you modify your car?

Just as the topic says. What is your goal when you modify your car?

I mod so i can use it on the track and autoX. I try to make it functional and useful to me in daily driving and on the track.

My main reason for posting this is that i see some guys get all these crazy suspension set ups and BBK but the car never comes close to even seeing autoX event let alone the track. Seems like an awful big waste of money for something you not going to put it through the paces.

Wow . . . Get down from there. You're going to bleed to death. Hmmm . . . Are you a professional driver, whom makes a living with his/her car? If not, where is your beneficial gain? Are your gains that much more significant than stock?

People mod their cars, buy expensive watches, purses, dine out, etc. because 1) They can 2) It brings them some pleasure, etc.

We all create our own needs. Please don't justify your needs over everyone elses. It only makes you look like an &^%^&5.

i think you are missing the point.

I posted WHY do you mod? As in a question. It was not a statement. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Therefore i asked a question. I see things from my point of you and you see them from yours. So answer as you see fit from your point of view.

Its not my money someone is wasting be it for making them feel better or hobby. I do what i do for my own reason, and want to know why others do it. There are certain things i may not get but that is the reason why i ask... why do you do it./

its not always about *****. You dont have to go there and go all out, even driving with instructor you can learn a lot on how to drive and how your car behaves.

First time i did it i was scared ****less. By the end of the day i kept pushing more and more then i did when i started. Its def. a lot of fun.

For those who have the time, tools, and money, it's a chance to get your hands dirty and have some fun.
That you pick up some hp, experience and possibly a better ride, is a bonus.

Whether driven at a track, or just driven on the street, is irrelevent.

I love mechanics.

Colin.
