an insurance claim for a radar detector? what if ur premium goes up 500 a year or something. Just something to consider.

What kinda of crappy insurance do you all have??? Making claims, as long as your not doing it all the time won't cause your rates to increase.

I was in an accident and they still went down. When I got the G, my rates fell because I was driving a safer car than my Ford.

 

I dont wanna jack the thread. I have excellent insurance USAA but a claim is a claim.

 

did anything else get damaged? or just the escort got stolen?

if the latter, isn't there a deductible?

if the deductible is $250 or up, why not just buy one on ebay for around 220?

Stolen items should be covered under the Comprehensive portion of your policy. A claim under that coverage is not likely to cause any premium hike, but search for a recent thread that discussed the issue to death. I agree with the above post, you will have a deductible (mine is $250), so check out what the insurer will have to pay before making a claim.

 

Yea they also stole my xbox and digital camera..... But i have recipts for all that. i just need it for the Escort Passport.

The 500 deductible will go towards fixing the door lock that they busted.
