It's just an oil change. If you go to the dealer you bought the car from, the first oil change should be free. But normally, they cost ~$38.

Yeah, my first oil change at the dealer was free, as well. I just got the regular Dinosaur grade oil.

You don't need synthetic oil till at least about 10K miles, and even then, you probably don't ever need to go synthetic unless you live in a cold climate area.

My buddy has a newer M3 and Im pretty sure its a special kind of oil. Those things guzzle oil, so its not like you just change it and not worry about it for another 15k.

Just got back from having the 7500 mile done on my car. All they did was oil & filter at $43 (incl tax).

What's done at the 15k service for the Coupe? I just got a letter and indeed I'm 500 miles from 15k.

if you like to push your car, synthetic is the way to go. its soo much more slippery compared to regular oil and its good for up to 5 hwp.

synthetic lasts longer than regular oil, but i'd never run 15,000 miles especially in an m3. i don't think the oil filters last that long

i was looking in the manual a few weeks ago about that... i believe it's just an oil change with a bunch of inspections, maybe air filter changes (engine and cabin). most of these "inspections" can be performed by yourself if you're somewhat car savvy.

as for oil, i'm going to stick with conventional since i'm in a lease. my last car (wrx) was quite a bit more high strung than our v6, so i ran mobil 1 in that. at about 80hp/litre our engines aren't overly stressed.

Just an oil change. Have it done at Nissan, might cost you less. Infiniti here charge $30.00 for oil change.
