Wupped up on a g35 coupe auto, and two wrx's...
In the past few weeks, i have raced an auto g35coupe, a stock wrx, and a slightly modified wrx. I beat them all from a dead stop at a light. i have a 6spd coupe with a injen intake and am waiting for my borla cat-back. anyway, i took the auto g by at least 2.5 carlengths by 90 mph, and about the same for the stock wrx. the modded wrx, which the guy told me at the next light, had a full exhaust, including the down pipe, and blow off valve, and a turbo timer. He was going on and on about how fast my car was, and how he thought it wasnt even going to be close. He said he has run mid 13's at the track. Anyway, i had him by a car and a half by the time we slow down and i was still pulling on him. i thought every 6spd owner would like to hear this. I dont now if my car happens to be a freak from the factory or what, but i havent lost to anyone yet including an nsx, thats right, an NSX. but the NSX is that fast anyway, and it was on the highway.

Not to mention getting 1.5 car lengths on a "slightly" modded, mid 13 sec. WRX, FROM A STOP!?!?!
I'm afraid I too would have to question the integrity of this port, but hey, anything is possible I guess. I raced a guy with a 2K3 WRX with turbo exhaust & downpipe, CAI, boost controller, BOV, and UDP and he pulled on me both runs.

I would think injen plus 6AT = serious contrender for NSX...if its an older one it has less power and is more handling riented..he would kill in twisties but i believe it...good kills. The wrx driver must just be unskilled or perhaps all that work he did lost tourque in process of adding HP.

Why do you go around diss’n us auto coupe owners? We no we can’t beat a MT as long as it has a good driver. We have more drive train loss. You don’t see me going around bragging I can run faster than my sister….do you?
Now the WRX’s are a different story. There it’s a driver’s advantage. However, the WRX’s have to get an assume start to compete with the G. They get there fast times from the launch. Bad launch = slow car. 227hp slow.
Also, FYI, a turbo timer dose not make a car go faster, it only adds weight making go slower!

I live in PA and drive to NJ so no 6AT for me either...get the grounding kit if you haven't yet and that will help offset that advantage...injen or stillen can offer help there too. And go to dealer and have them updgrade your ecu when available...no need to stay behind the others...at least until they mod.

I agree typhoon, although I must say, a stock WRX from a roll isn't going to fare well against a G35. I raced a stock on the roll and pulled on him all over the place. But from a start, the AWD is just too much. And forget about a modded WRX. Been there done that as well.

why would i make up racing these guys and beating them. there is no point to that. maybe the guy was telling me he had more done to his car than he actually did. anyway, it is good for us g35 owners that we can take these cars. i didnt not think i was going to beat the stock wrx for that matter. but, after two, i am pretty confident. when i put my exhaust on next week, i am going to the track. i will post the time slips. then we'll see whats up. but i definitely took those cars. no joke. and today a lincoln Ls V8, but that is nothing to brag about.

Are you sure?
02 NSX, 0-60: 5.0, 1/4 mile:13.4@106mph (R&T March 2002)
98 NSX, 0-60: 4.5, 1/4 mile:12.9@110mph (C&D August 1998)
95 NSX-T, 0-60: 5.2, 1/4 mile: 13.8@103mph (C&D July 1995)
Again, it this is true, I'm definately interested to see your 1/4 mile times. Scan the slips in once you get the exhaust on!!! Don't keep us waiting too long!!

Re: what????
I don't doubt the G35 is faster then a stock WRX. The stats I get on the WRX are 0-60 in 5.4, and 1/4 mile in 14.1@96mph.(C&D, Oct. 2001). Now also look at C&D stats on the G35SC (which you were right on with) 0-60 in 5.5 and 1/4 in 14.2@100mph. Now if you look at the trap speeds, there is a 4mph difference, showing that the WRX's launch has a lot to do with it's good time. Without that launch (rolling start), the G is all over the WRX. Again, i've pulled all over a stock WRX from a rolling 40mph start, without going over 4000rpm (I was still breaking in). I was pulling so hard, that I'm sure that car had to have been an auto as well.
I think its the 2.5 cars on the auto G, the 1.5 cars on a mid-13 sec. modded WRX, and the NSX which people are having a tough time with.
Edited by G35TR on 07/19/03 03:27 PM.
