Just curious if there are any drivers out there that use an iPod or other MP3 to tie into their sound system-- obviously you can use the old cassette thing but is there a better way-- I assume the stereo does not have inputs for an MP3 player, correct (my 2004 is on order)? No matter what- having 250 CDs at your fingertips beats the 6 CD changer. Even with the fake tape cartridge and wire it sounds fantastic, and that's low fidelity compared to a direct connection.

 

i just hook up my old rio 800 up to my G. it sounds ok through the tape deck not that great but it is nice to have a large data base of songs so close. i will post some pics tommarow if u wanna see

I have not heard any reviews on the DLO product. I am currently using an iRock FM Transmitter, which I would not suggest using.

 

I have wanted the same thing as you. I am thinking going in adding a stereo plug just for the ipod because i hate having the tape adapter here look the pic oh my ipod in my "G"

I use an fm transmitter and a car charger. Works great and sound very good. You can set it to what station you want and lay the ipod on your seat. I purchase a iskin to cover the ipod so that it does not slide around. Got the stuff from this web site.

here's what mine looks like., the side pocket by center console is the perfect place fits very well. and never falls out even under extreme G forces. i also have a nice charger that i feel accentuates the interior styling quite nicely. the firewire cabling is fat and round and also transparent revieling the silver wire underneath. really cool!<P ID="edit"><FONT class="small"><EM>Edited by zsyphon on 07/21/03 06:19 PM.</EM></FONT></P>

I've used an Ipod with my G35 for the past 6 months and although a direct input would be better, using a tape adapter probably will be fine for most people. Unless you are really picky about sound then you most likely won't even notice and giving up some sound quality without having to carry 300 CDs around is worth it imo.
