my car went back to the dealer, again.
Some of you may remember a thread I created earlier this month about the 05' G35 Coupe that had to go back into the dealer the same day I purchased the car. The car simply would not start with the keys provided. The alarm remote didn't work as if a battery wasn't put in (but it did have a battery, it just wasn't programmed). I had driven home the car on the 1st of this month and I must've used a different set of keys to start the car again when I got home and the car wouldn't start at all no matter what key was used afterwards.
The car was sent back that day on a tow truck and I was given the car the following day with the keys reprogrammed. I had not driven the car that day but did start it and it started just fine. The following day I start up the car and go out. As I was ready to come back home I try starting the car and the car wouldn't start yet again. This time someone from the dealership came out with a computer, started the car with that and then drove it back as I followed to get a loaner car (again).
The car was kept for about a week and they had installed a new computer. After the computer was installed, they kept the car for 3 days just to be sure it starts every time (it was a weekend, so I couldn't of gotten the car anyway). I got the car back and all was well for about a week. Which brings me to last night. I start the car, go out and as I was ready to come back home the car wouldn't start. This would be the 3rd time the car has to go back into the dealership, a car that I purchased with 9 miles on the odometer. I was parked in a garage in NYC and had to leave the car there. I used another car to get home and called a tow truck the following morning so I can get a loaner car the same day. Not only is my car not starting again but now I have to be worried about scratches because although I was told I was getting a flatbed tow truck to transport my car, a wrecker showed up and took the car away. I wasn't there to say anything and was under the impression that a flatbed was there. On the receipt I got from the driver, it says there are scratches on the front bumper which he obviously scratched from the car being so low and him lifting the car up from the back, then towing it in NYC streets which is known for horrible potholes.
New York lemon law says the car must be repaired at least 4 times within 18,000 miles to be considered a lemon. Any legal action would take too much time and money to even get anywhere. I'm told that they're going to strip the cars components and replace it.. my brand new car is being stripped.
To top that off, the "boss" at the dealership is no help at all and was rude.

.....well, it's quit on you 3 times now, and the dealer can't seem to fix it properly.......... so the next time it quits, you can claim lemon...
about the only thing you can do for a recurring issue.
Who cares how p'd off "the boss" is???? He should remember that it was YOUR money that bought the car and that YOUR p'd off.
You might want to remind him that the next time you're in for the same issue, you've met the requirement to declare it a lemon.

BMW?? they have PLENTY of electrical problems.. i have a friend who had just bought a new 3 series and had all four brakes lock on her, which stopped her from 40 to 0 flat.. thank god nobody was behind her, but she suffered plenty of whiplash.. BMW's reasoning was electrical problems related to a faulty computer.. and i've had other friends who's BMW are constantly in the shop for broken mirrors, a/c, etc..
sorry about the rant, but i wouldn't say BMW would be any improvement..
anyways, sorry to hear about your G.. i've heard of a few isolated incidents, but the best thing you can probably do is get in contact with corporate.. if you said the general manager/owner is not very helpful, then they usually change their attitude when they hear anything from the people they answer to..

I'd let Infiniti Customer Service know how you felt. good luck.

Please tell me you're being sarcastic. The E46 in its early days were notorious for burning down people's garages due to an aux fan electrical problem.
That's a shame rick505. I agree with Gsedanman. The next time you should be able to use the lemon law if you want. It might be an idea to Infiniti involved now if you haven't already to allow them a fair chance to resolve it for you.
It's interesting but I had an extra ignition key made for my car when new. All three keys have been used since i got it. A month ago I went to use one of the spares and it wouldn't work. Same thing as yours except the others did work. I took it in with the three keys, they reprogrammed it and everything is fine for now. I hope it stays that way.
