Obviously all of us with '05s are biased to some degree (I won't deny it), but I agree that the headlights are very very nice, but I don't like the tails. I'd like to retrofit the headlights on my coupe, but I bet the cost is going to FAR outweigh the benefit of having them. After all, this was a pretty minor refresh... I'll wait till 07s are out to be very impressed (or horrified, or something in between)...

 

I can offer some non-biased opinion as a non-owner who has the opportunity to get the 05 or 06. That being said I'm gonna go with the 06. Honestly after seeing the 06, the older G's look kinda plain now. The new bumper and yes even the tailights give the car an extra "kick". In the pic below I dont think the tailights look bad at all. The dimples accentuate the circular aspects of the tailights and give it a more aggressive look. And I also dig the new spoiler. They could have made it a bit more round, but still a step up from the ironing board.

 

Not biased at all ... the nose is ugly looking IMO... IF you want a more aggressive look get the lip like most want for a meaner look. The tails are ugly... Not more aggressive...Just ugly! And the side sills look confused. They don't fit into the look of the car at all. As for the other changes, they are a plus in my book, but not worth the extra money... or the loss of style to the 05. The spoiler is nasty as well in my book.... I love my spoiler & think the car looks perfect with it... The 06 spoiler?? Thank god I bought a 05

 

Well, I certainly didn't expect this many posts on my thread here. But I'm glad it got some attention whether it was pos/neg.

I am one who is thinking of ordering a 2006. The 2005 model is just SO much easier to accept because there aren't any huge exterior changes (besides awesome 19" wheels).

But the 2006 throws a curveball at all of us (esp. 2005 owners) with some exterior changes. By human nature, we're not supposed to accept change immediately. So this just makes me wonder if a few months from now if the 2006 model will be the most respected year of the G?

DG (no offense to anyone) would never be my personal color choice, but it's just what I happened to stumble upon with my camera.

 

To all those who are trashing the 06 tail lights: How many of you have ACTUALLY seen one in person??? Just wondering, cuz I saw a Liquid Platinum 06 Coupe at the dealer today and the tail lights looked just as good if not better than the 05 tail lights. Same thing for the new spoiler, I dont even think anyone who had actually taken delivery of an 06 on this forum has a a spoiler on their car. So you guys are judging it from a few pictures on the Infiniti website?

 

Oh Gawd, please tell me how the Liquid Platinum 2006 looked? Would you pick the LP over the IP? I'm confused on which color to order.

 

LP was a very blehhh color for me, its a lot lighter and duller than the BS. I think the BS was much better. I am not a big fan of IP but if it came down to it id prolly get the LP only since its metallic.

 

I like it very little change...thats a good thing.

 

wow those taillights, pretty funky, but is it me or does freakin infiniti change something everyyear on these coupes?

 

i saw the taillights in person at cerritos infiniti. the reverse lights look a little small imo.
