Wait...so you can burn the Program CD & the version 6.4 DVD, then use them in the factory DVD-NAV player without any problems?

I don't believe that the factory player will read a burned dvd. At lease no one has posted a success doing so.

Ah...so burned CD yes, burned DVD no.

I haven't heard of any problems upgrading the 6.1 to the new 6.4. Shouldn't be any problems right?

Hey G35Maxedout, what version DVD did you change to the 6.4 from? Is there a significant difference in the map and POI's? Do you think the update was worth it? I just e-mailed Zenrin inquiring what the changes are from version 6.3 to 6.4; haven't heard back yet.

I had v6.2 that came with the car and the map seems more detailed and its faster than before. I'm sure the POI have been expanded too.

I had v6.1 from when I bought my car in '03. I bought the v6.3 a couple of months ago when the car was in for service. I really didn't notice anything new as far as display or information. It all looks the same and does all the same things it did before. I guess like others have said, you need a firmware upgrade as well.

Later,

Ray

I wrote them and this was their response regarding the new dvd compatibility with previous year navigation systems.

Dear Customer,

The 2006 vehicles have a different navigation system which requires a different formatted DVD. Unfortunately you cannot use the DVD for a 06 model in your system.

Thank you
