brembo rotors and pads replacement at the dealer will cost you $3K already! but yeah u could get it done for half that price with aftermarkets but if u need to replace your tires soon then the $5K alone almost covers it! get it!

GAH WAH?

$3000 would hopefully also include new calipers (which do not require Changing with rotors.. )

if you have the brembos, try to get a quote from your dealer for replacement of all rotors and pads ONLY and surely you'll get a figure similar to 3K, labor included. that's why i said aftermarket can be had for less than half that price.

(unfortunately at that time, most of the valets do not know how to engage the reverse gear on the manual transmission G35 Coupe) As himike clubbed the valet to bloody chunks, a beautiful woman in skimpy outfit appeared on the lake surrounded by a golden glow. She looked at himike and asked "Sir, which one of these vehicles belonged to you?"

Two vehicles rose out of the lake surface besides the woman. One was a brand new 2005 Infiniti G35 model with premium package glittering in the sun; on the other side was a used 2003 G35 with dings, scratches, no premium package, black plastic center console, dead brakes, bald tires and a transplanted engine.

and himike said......

^^^yeah. and i believe that's one of the reasons they took away the brembos for 2005. come brake maintenance, they get a lot of complaints from 6MT owners about the price, who normally dont track and wouldn't mind strong regular brakes. it's not that nissan spent a lot on these oem brembos because nissan could probably get them cheap wholesale from brembo. they still have it on the 350Z because the chances of ppl wanting to track the car is greater on the Z than the G and thus ppl are more aware of the costs of replacements. thats just what i think.

30k on a set of Brembos is really good. Others have to replace them at 15 or 20k.
g35 owners complaining about brake life made them ditch the Brembos.

The deal for the 05 sounds good, but is it new or used?

If you pay $3k for new pads and rotors, then you really need to depart with your money. Buy your pads from Performance Nissan and get aftermarket Stoptechs one or two piece rotors and get pretty much any garage to put them on. Hell, even I can do the rears myself and it doesn't involve disconnecting the brake line.

If you turn down that offer you must be from a different world. Man I would have slapped down 5K right then and there to get a new '05. Thats just insane, who cares about those brembo brakes there a money trap anyways. the '05s brakes are just as good they just dont have the attention getting factor the brem's have. Better jump on that real fast.

I just ordered OEM size Brembo slotted rotors and Project MU B-Force pads due to my Brembos finally going out at 42,xxx miles! Compared to others, my Brembos lasted a heck of lot longer. Go me.

Go with the '05. The interior alone is worth the extra money. If the '06 is a grand or two more, go for the '06. Who wouldn't want a newer car (unless you don't like the new features)?

i'm going over to talk to the dealer at lunch. according to the service manager they are more eager to move the 05's than the 06's (both would be new vehicles) .....what are the improvements in the 06 over the 05 and how much would you pay to get them?

I agree, but the mistake was not offering it (Brembo package) as an option of any kind for some of us G owners that wanted it... I would have bought the 05 in a minute, no second thoughts, even if the Brembo's cost another 3K, just as long as the came on the car originally... I don't want to mess with these things anymore, I just want to drive and maintain, not build. If I wanted to build a car, I would have bough an older 300TT or Supra and took it from there.

I hope there is a G45 or the GT-R for us in north America soon!

hahaha, you should have throw them $5k and left with the new car yesterday. I guess the dealership personnels took emergency algebra last night and figured out their mistakes.
