Rain drips from window seal?

Anyone else notice this or have this issue?

I enjoy a ciggarette from time to time, especially to go along with my morning coffee on commutes. (Save the comments and opinions on smoking ciggarettes in general or in the G.)

Well Anytime i open my windows even if it's just a crack, the slightest down fall of rain water results in beads on the rubber and drips continuesly into the car all over the seats and door panels. It's extremely annoying considering i have friends who drive Hyandui Elantra's and don't have any issue of this sort.

Any solutions aside from the obvious or carrying along a microfiber towels to wipe which only works temporarily. Any solvent's or protectants??? to help?

One: don't open the window when it's raining, tilt the roof (if you have one)... I don't think you can get around the water dripping, it's just the way the car was designed, other things were considered.

like mbq said... try using the "ash tray." i can't stand people flicking their butts out the window and having them bounce off my hood anyways.

Just because a Hyundai or Honda didn't drip water when the window was cracked doesn't mean ****. The shape of the G and the design of the seamless windows are the problem here, not some magical solution that every other manufacturer has over Nissan. My wife's Pathfinder doesn't have the this problem either, but that is a completely different vehicle with a different shape and different window design.

If it's that big a deal, buy some cheap wind deflectors or something. Otherwise, resist smoking when it's raining. I can't always wait until I'm out of the G, but I do opt to wait when it's raining in order to avoid the wetness. Just a negative trait of such a sleek body.

I was thinking about creating a thread about this problem. It's very annoying to smoke a cigarette in the rain! I have never used my ashtray and probably never will (it will make your car stink if you use it). I'm sure everyone who smokes in their G's have this problem in the rain.. It's inevitable. Like GT-Ron said, it's the design of the car since our windows are seamless. Rain guards? Yea you can probably install them, but in my opinion it will kill the sleekness of the G and probably look like crap. I haven't seen any G's with rain guards yet. I just crack the window open just a teeny bit to let the smoke out while driving and leave the sunroof tilted up like htownboy mentioned. I'm trying real hard not to smoke in the car when it rains but sometimes you just need that nicotine fix... DAMN THOSE CANCER STICKS! LOL I'm a hypocrite

I agree. My wind-deflector suggestion was a bit sarcastic. I don't really think there is a solution to this, other than using you're sunroof, etc. But popping the sunroof only encourages the air to enter through the cracked window, bringing the drops with it.

Was that even necassary? your sarcasm was a terrible attempt at being even remotely funny.

Not surprised by the negative reactions here at all for the most part.

I simply just wondered if anyone else dealt with this. It's really not that serious. As for rain gaurds or whatever? HELL NO. Not a chance. I'll deal.

And for the character that complained about getting whiffs of second hand smoke while driving on the highway lol think about it now...doesn't that just sound ridiculously stupid and far fetched.
