Well if I put my mod money towards car payments... let's just say she would have been paid off right about the time I purchased the S/C.

I did choose to keep about $10K aside for mods, and that's been nice.
I just wish FI would add to the resale value.

remember, banks get 80% of your total interest the first year. so if you are second or third year on your loan payments, I wouldn't bother to pay it all back at one shot, put the money in Ing Direct and get 3.5% interest rate. or invest for some bigger returns.
