I've been working in bodyshops for 14 years now, and in my opinion, you need a new fender. And then the bodyshop would have to blend the color into the door and hood.

Yes your fender could be straightened, but it would take a lot of plastic filler (bondo), and personally, I wouldn't want a hacked-up fender on my G35. Your not driving a civic. Pay the money and get it fixed right.

Wow, that's a tough break. You gotta keep your eyes open for people like that. Too bad the other driver didn't actually hit your G . . . Then it would be a totally different story.

I hope the damage is minimal and you get your G back in-order.

It is hard to say by just the pictures, usually the bodyshop will do a preliminary estimate-- then tear it down to look for hidden damage. I know this sounds like they are trying to gouge you, but it is the only way to know if there is additional damage is to take the fender and bumper off.

I am sorry this happened to you.

Good luck.

Did you exchange information with the other driver? By the way you described it, it's his fault and his insurance should pay to have your car fixed.

fender,bumper,rim dmg...according to picture(big things)
but is it out of shape under the hood? it can be bent, break, etc.
lucky how he didnt hit your quarter panel cuz thats frame dmg.
i dont think you have any frame dmg.
i am having hard time too...got into accident and rear bumper doesnt match and bodyshop is telling me all this BS how he paints 2~3 infiniti bumpers everyday and also, exhaust.
hope everything works out and basically, fitment(gap between parts after install) and color are main things you should look out for.
sorry to hear that...and you know what...it cant be helped...too many stupid ones out there trying to push the car to its limit...sigh...

...are you serious? i didnt even know about this...!
they painted already like i said earlier for the first time and it was lighter. obviously!
they are sanding off and putting paint for 2nd time.
it's not a random bodyshop but it's under infiniti dealer.(ownerwise)
i should ask that to bodyshop!

here goes what happened 2 days ago.
i am 18 as well and i took my car to bodyshop regarding paint match.
talked to the painter and he started to cuss my *** for being too picky and bragging about his skills, etc. i wont identify which dealer but it's disappointing. i will see how it goes. :/

thx for your info appreciate it!

I'm sorry, I paint cars for a living, what exactly is an oem clear coat? The body shop will use whatever clear coat that goes with the paint system they are using. Whether it's PPG, Dupont, Sikkens, Martin Senour, etc.

Yes the clear coat changes the color, but a good painter will take that into consideration when matching the color. When I get the color close, I clear it to see if it changes it. The clear will magnify the metallics and highlight certain hues. Clear also has a slight yellow tint that changes lighter colors a lot.

You have a 3-stage pearl that if blended into the adjacent panels, color match shouldn't be a problem.

And by the way jdm, you should tell that bodyshop that you don't care how many infiniti bumpers they paint, if it doesn't match it doesn't match. They should repaint it.
