so when i'm in 1st gear above 3000rpm just normal driving (not full throttle) and rev to like 4500 rpm...the engine sounds very "chattery" or like a lot of metal noises going on....is this apparent in anybody elses' g35s? i have an '05 coupe 6mt....doesn't do this in any other gears....1st gears just sounds really rough. thanks a lot.

 

sounds scary, i had an incident where my 5th gear grinds and they replaced the whole transmission. just take it to the dealer.

 

my 1st gear has always been noisy at high revs. At a 6K+ rpm shift it sounds like all hell is breaking loose until you hear that sweet chirp of the wheels breaking loose as you shift into 2nd ...............

You would think that for a $40K car, the trans/shifter/clutch pedal combo would be a bit smoother ...........

 

im having the same problem. I have an 04 G35C 6MT. I actually just mentioned this in a post but havnt gotten any responses yet. So everyone thinks we should just take it to the dealer??

 

Yes, i also noticed the car noisy as heck at high rpms. :O
