However, one mod does indeed come to mind . . . Wear the lightest pair of shoes, which you happen to own, prior to getting behind the driver's seat of your G.
Ah ha! That's what I was doing worng! When I got pulled over for speeding, I was wearing steel toe work shoes But it sure does help you accelerate fassst

Yeah, no **** MikeyMike but I didn't know that the disparity was that big! I did have a Honda Civic btw. I kinda wish that I would have kept it as my daily driver and had the G for the weekends!

Bastard! I would be extatic (sp?) if I could get close to 350 miles per gallon driving here in L.A.

347 isn't that much considering that the G35 hold 20 gallons of gas...

19mpg x 20 gallons = roughly 400 miles

25mpg x 20 gallons = 500 miles

This may sound odd, but what I started doing (and it seems to work well) is switched to 76 and fill it up early in the mornings when its still cold outside. Gas is measured/sold by volume so you get a bit more when its cold and for some odd reason 76 gas seems to give me better mileage on the G. As far as mods??????

As far as mods go, the best way to increase fuel efficiency is with a CAI and better catback exhaust system (this applies to most every car as well). However, there is a fundamental problem with these mods too--they make the car like 2x as more fun to drive, so you're probably going to get worse fuel efficiency than you would have had to begin with :P

I know I'm just breaking in my engine, but I have about 800 miles on it and I drive it like I stole it and getting 11.7 mpg...almost as good as the Jeep Eventually, when I begin to drive the car like I've had it for years, it'll even out and I'm hoping for 15-16mpg

I've been averaging 20-23 mpg driving in the suburbs. After reading from all the replies, I guess my car is as fuel efficient as it can get

lol at all of you thinking the most fuel efficient mod is a CAI and cat-back.

I completely expected something different, but after i installed the TT kit my city mpg went up 29-31 and highway depending on the speed i could get anywhere from 38-50mpg.

If you dont want to mod so heavily for better gas mileage and more fun then yes go with CAI and cat-back, or stay stock.

Is it safe to say you would get similar results with a supercharger? This could be a selling point to the wifey

One thing I will say about the G - the highway mpg isn't bad. I have noticed more than any other car I've owned, the difference between city and highway mpg though. In the city I'll go as low as 9mpg sometimes, but on the highway I can get 27-30mpg at cruising speed. Whacky.

u might check with someone who has done it and compare their results. the tuning maps is what could set it apart, but FI is FI.
