TS ECU Flash on stock 6MT

Guys-

Newbie here. I have a stock 2005 6MT and was thinking of re-flashing my ECU. In fact I have an appt. at TS tomorrow. In reading all the posts on this subject, I am not convinced it is worth it on a stock 6MT. I do not want to do other mods as this car is leased and I am not really much of a gear-head/racer. Just looking to add a little performance and thought this would be the best way. Now I am not so sure. So the question is: Is a re-flash worth it on a stock 6MT? Will I notice a difference? Your thoughts please.

P.S.- I spoke to Brian at TS today and he said the re-flash on a stock 6MT is his favorite. Not sure if there is any truth to that or he just wants my 6 bills.

Don't do it. They have screwed up more cars than they have helped.

I thought the whole point of a re-flash was to reconfigure the car for the new mods? I'd imagine if the car is stock, the original engineers programed the ECU pretty darn well.

IF it's the GREATEST TUNE EVER you might see 10whp..
But more likely you'll end up losing HP.

Not really worth the money.

if you are going to add more mods then i would wait for the reflash. cp-e.com might be coming out with something as well

I would not do it. In fact it makes no sense to me. For the money it's going to cost you...

Just get the new Motordyne Mod for the Rev-up engine when it comes out. Sell it at the end of your lease. This will be much cheaper and you will have so much more to gain.

Cancel your appointment.

Thanks guys! You just saved me 600 bones. Perhaps I will do the plenum spacer instead.

For a rev-up engine, I say it's a waste of money. All the things the ECU will do for a non rev-up, you have on your '05, i.e. higher redline, better top-end, etc. Only get the ECU if you do a lot of engine mods like cams, intake, exhaust, cats, etc. They can get your A/F back in check.

Not much point doing a reflash without mods. I wouldn't do it, and especially not for "6 bills".
If you change your mind on mods, then do it at that time.
my $.02

That new MREV motordyne mod seems to be an amazing mod, according to the 2-3 people who have it ahead of everyone else. I agree with the other guys, just get that.
