I gotta say that sucks. There are lots of haters out there. I drove a mean 55 chevy in HS and never had a problem...had plenty of haters but everyone respected the ride...and it was the fastest car in school. Although my brother was a year younger and had his camaro windshield smashed with a huge rock and the hood scratched to hell. Never found out who did it...

I'd talk to his parents if he did admit doing the damage. IF they are stand up people, they would take care of the cost.

My G was keyed in valet outside a club in Scottsdale the first week I owned it. Nobody even knew who the car belonged to. I hate to say, but haters will hate.
Bro, take the high ground. Revenge doesn't exist. Shake it off. Get mad, but don't get even. Karma is a strange thing, y'know.
Besides, seems like you have good moral compass and good ethics. Neither of those can be keyed and they will always shine. Aw-yeah!

I did talk to his mom (parents divorced), but she was always drunk and is crazy. She left 20 messages one day drunk yelling that her son is not responsible and that she will sue for harassment if we try to get her to pay. Didnt want to get into a legal battle over 3000 if i dont absolutley need to. And its better not to get involved with drunks. We just left her a calm message telling her she is crazy and a drunk and should grow up. and to never contact us again.

Nobody ever keyed my two tone yellow 1980 Toyota Tercel. I guess they thought it was too cool of a car to key.

You are right to be pissed but this is one of the reasons to carry the max insurance you can get. In the many years since I was in high school I,ve learned the best way to hurt someone is financially. When you find out who the perp. is pay him back in kind. Don't take all the windows out, take them out one at a time. That way he gets the message.

I work part time ~32 hours a week, and the only thing i cover is car payments and insurance, so its very do-able for someone like me, and im positive there are a few others that are doing the same.

There are a few responsible highschool students, please dont stereotype all young kids that have a nice car into their parents buying it for them.
Well said. You are an exception to the general stereotype. No to sound stupid, but starting out this way will set the tone for the rest of your life. Good for you.
