Newbie Sat Radio Question

My G35 Coupe is not pre-wired but does have the Sat button. I am not clear on what exactly I need to get sat radio installed. Where do I get the necessary harness and does the harness need to be installed at the dealer or will the local stereo shop do OK. I understand that the hardware install is pretty easy once the harness is in.

Thanks in advance,
Allan

Re: Newbie Sat Radio Question

You will need to buy a harness. You can get it at http://www.infinitiwholesaleparts.com/en_US/ Enter JULYPARTS as the discount code when you checkout with you order and receive an extra 5% off that part.

The dealer will not install the harness from you, so you will either have to do it yourself or have a local shop do it for you.

Re: Newbie Sat Radio Question

Pull apart your trunk to check for the harness. Take out the spare, than the black plastic covering to the left of the spare which is held by one 10mm nut/bolt. You should see the housing for your stereo amp (mine is the bose) and to the left of that is a wire bundle. If you have a white plug which is about 1.2"x0.3" secured in the middle of that wire bundle, then you have then harness. If your VIN is not too far below the published VIN cutoff for the harness, then it is prewired.
