Need Help on Exit/Entry Assist on '06 Coupe

I have a '06 5AT Coupe (DG, premium, sports-tuned, aero, RAS). Does anyone know how to get the entry and exit assist to work (where the seat slides back and the steering wheel moves up when you exit)? I've read the manual and it says to hold down the "set" button for 10 secs, which I've tried but it still doesn't work.

Thanks for the help.

Instructions from Owner's Manual:
ENTRY/EXIT FUNCTION (if so equipped)
This system is designed so that the driver's seat and steering column will automatically move when the automatic transmission selector lever is in the P (Park) position. This allows the driver to get into and out of the driver's seat more easily. (This feature is not available on models equipped with manual transmission.) The driver's seat will slide backward and the steering wheel will move up when the driver's door is opened with the key or ignition
switch in the LOCK position. The driver's seat and steering wheel will return
to the previous positions:
- When the key is inserted into the ignition switch after closing the driver's
door, or when the driver's door is closed after inserting the key into the
ignition switch.
- When the ignition switch is pushed with the driver's door closed.
- When the key or ignition switch is turned to the ON position.

Initializing entry/exit function:
The entry/exit function can be activated or cancelled by pushing and holding the SET switch for more than 10 seconds while the ignition switch is in the LOCK position. The indicator light will blink once when the function is cancelled, and the indicator light will blink twice when the function is activated.

Make sure the key is on the "ON" position (not literally turn on the car). I'm almost sure this is your problem. Take a good look at the ignition and read all the different positions.

Good luck.

But the manual says to make sure it's in the "LOCK" position, not the "ON" position as you indicated. See my copy and paste from the manual above.

Same here........ I can not get it to work, I tried every possible combination switch on/off press the SET button for 20 sec. 30 sec. what not. I think this feature is not install on my car (06 5AT Coupe with premium/Nav/Intelligent key) will need to ask the service department when I will take the car for first oil change.

Is there a switch on the dash to turn it off. I have a maxima and you can turn this function on and off on the dash. If it is in the off position you can not set the feature. I don't know if the g has a switch or not but its worth a look.

No, it does not.

The G35 Sedan has a "Auto/Cancel" button next to the memory setting buttons, but the Coupe does not (only "SET/1/2"). But according the the manual it should still work by pressing the down the "SET" button for more than 10 secs, which I tried but couldn't get it to work.

On the FX35, to make this work you twist the **** for the steering wheel adjustments.
Dunno if it's the same or not, just thought I'd throw it out there.

Just a possibility, maybe you guys already have your seats set as far back as they can go? I know on mine this will be a useless feature cuz at 6'1" I am gonna be sitting as far back as possible.

From: Trolling a forum near u.... (T.O.)
are u sure this function is available on the coupe's? we have less backroom then the sedan... this function wouldn't make sense in the coupe's especially if u have someone sitting behind u. just a thought. my dad has an fx45 and i know the setting for easy entry is in the navi.

No, my seat is not all the way back at the furthest position.

The owner's manual only indicates that "This feature is not available on models equipped with manual transmission".

Well, I have the 5AT. Guess I'll just head back to the dealer and have them explain it to me.

Hey, give this a try ...........................

My 06 Coupe will only activate the "seat back" thingy if the Emergency Brake is set! Had me and the dealer baffled until someone pulled parking brake on........
With that said I am pretty sure this only aply's to the MT but won't hrt to try! G'luck..

06 Coupe Entry/Exit Assist for back seat only

I've been also trying to get the exit/entry assist to work on my 06 Coupe. I recently looked at the "2006 G Quick Reference Guide.pdf". On page 6 it shows that the "Entry/Exit Assist feature" when entering/exiting the car only works on the Sedan. The Coupe has the "Rear Passenger Entry/Exit Assist" which works when you flip the seat back forward to get into the rear seats. The difference between the coupe and sedan is not explained clearly in the owner's manual.

Does anyone else have a different interpretation?

after going to the dealer and reviewing the new 06 coupe brousher, it says that the g35 coupe has the premium package of the g35 sedan (which includes exit/entry assist) but excluding ..... and exit/entry assist.

Therefore, I'm almost 100% sure that the manual is unclear and our 06' coupe do not have this feature.
