Would the 2006 nav cd/software work on the 2005 system?

Would the 2006 nav cd/software work on the 2005 system?
If i were to purchase the nav cd from the dealership or someplace else would it work on the 2005 nav system, or would there besome issuses. I would assume it would work because it is just a cd. Anyone know?

Just as a Playstation won't boot a Playstation 2 game, pre-06 G35 NAV system won't run the newer NAV system. It's mostly a hardware issue since Nissan chose to use a Gamboy level processor for our NAV system.

To Be Honest I Think You Wrong, I Am Pretty Sure, That If You Have A 2005, G35 Coupe, You Just Buy The New Dvd ,and It Should Work Fine, Your Suppose To Upgrade Your Dvd.

The 06 NAV software is the same as the M35/45 version 7.1

SO... has anyone who has 2005 g35 tried 2006 navi on their 2005 navi???
if it works w/o any hardware modification, then it will be great.... please let us know if anyone tried it....
