Might get a look at 2007 G sooner than later

In the past the GT-R has been based on the skyline(R33/R34/V35 platform)
From what I've read of nissan it will be the opposite way
instead of making a performance car out of a luxury car platform
They will be making a luxury car from a pure sports car platform.
So the next G35/Plain Skyline will be based on the GT-R rather than the other way around.

I'm new to this board, and new to interest in the Infiniti brand (I swear my family has a controlling interest in GM). I've been reading that Infiniti is expected to show its next generation of G's at this year’s circuit of auto shows. That being said, I'm wondering if anyone can comment on the timeliness of next generation releases to the public with relationship to its initial introduction? GM seems to release new product introduction within a year. Does the same hold true for Infiniti? I ask because I'm very interested in a G coupe and I'm wondering if it will change before I can get my hands on one. Thanks in advance.

i think it should be safe to assume taht the new G sedan will be out by late next summer. the question is when is the G coupe coming out? we have no idea if it will be released simultaneously or, horror be, a year later, like other manufacturers (and, i think, like infiniti did with the current-gen G's, am i wrong?)

I just got back from hong Kong, and there were plenty of magazines that were detailing the car on the cover. The Tokyo Auto Show just debuted it.
Here is a link to Automobile Magazines coverage of the car:

Apples and oranges. Edmund mentioned new design of the G35 coupe/sedan not the GTR. We have all seen the GTR pictures for a month now.

For ME it would have to be something like an AWD V8, to sway me away from my 04. I absolutley love my car! I know our cars will change in appearence and mechanics in time but I don't see how they could improve in the looks department. As far as the powertrain is concerned... a V8 would be great, but I don't think it will happen simply because a G with AWD and a V8 or at least V8 type power would take too much away from the GTR. JMHO.
