not all of them are upto that self-leveling technology yet...

and projectors are least to blind on-coming traffic.

people with reflectors are more prone(sp?) to blind on-coming traffic :P

I,m having 06 headlights intalled in my 05 this week
with 6000k bulbs, I,ll post pics soon
hey 6969, is there any personal preference you went with the 6000K bulbs over the stock (i beleive they are 4300K) bulbs??

if i get this upgrade (should be before my bday in March) I wouldn't want to lose any light output.

but if it isn't that noticeable and the only difference would be the 6000K being a little bluer, i would definately get them.

what kind of deal did you get on your 06 projectors if i may ask?

thanks!

My old BMW's had much better lighting, but I think Mercedes Benz's have the best headlights period. I've compared MB's lights to mine and mine look whimmpy next to them. Too bad though, good lighting is so important to safe driving.
i can actually tell you that the S2K's projectors and the Mitsubishi Evo MR's projectors are one of the best

better than BMW and MB... have you seen their cut-off?? they are very sharp!!!!

You're right about the projectors sky. They do blind people less than reflectors do. Also, self leveling technology for HID's has been around for some time now. In Europe it's the law that all HID headlights MUST self level themselves due to the fact that they CAN blind oncoming traffic. That is why you see all European HID equiped vehciles have the self leveling feature. Some Japanese cars have self leveling HID's too, the old IS300 comes to mind. But since Japanese law are far less strict than their European coutnerparts, Japan does not require all HID lights to self level. That's why you don't see ALL vehicles from Japan have this feature. Personally, I think all HID system should have this feature so we don't get a bad rap from those who get blinded by HID lights. Also looks very COOL too if you ask me. Too bad the '06 lights don't self level. Oh well, but I think I'm still going to bolt those '06 assemblies when I get a chance.

I wouldn't worry too much about people stealing your light assembly, because for them to steal your lights they'll most likely have to steal your car too. Taking off your headlight assembly isn't something you can do in a few minutes in a dark alley. The entire from bumper, amoung other things, has to be removed.

Wasn't there a huge thread in the lighting forum where some company that made projectors the is300's was in the process of making them for the '03-'05 G35 Coupes and Sedan. What ever happened to that? There was a huge list for demand on them as well.

I never heard about this, but if it's true I'd definitely would like to know more. Anyone have any info on this?

That's assuming they're going to remove the headlights with the same care that you would for your own car. You don't HAVE to remove the bumper. Especially if you aren't planning on reassembling it.

The huge thread you guys are talking about was for demon eyes from LCA575. He was supposed to fabricate a bracket to hold the projectors and then offer retrofitting service. There really isn't projectors made for the 2005 and earlier G35s. You pretty much have to retrofit if you aren't going to buy the 2006 lights. Last I heard, he was working a a few retrofits for people.
