Same here. I'm hoping availability and prices will fall a bit in the future. Another thing, if you upgrade to '06 assemblies you can get warranty work done from the dealer. I checked with my dealer and they said they would.

What dealership did you talk to? And any specific person you talked to? thanks!

I spoke to a guy at Santa Monica Infiniti. He said that if I came in for warranty work and I had the '06 lights installed he would do the warranty work. He pretty much said that most people wouldn't even know that mine wasn't an '06 and just do the work. Nothing in paper mind you, but that made me feel a bit better. Also, he said that this would only apply to '06 light assemblies with no mods on it at all. Any mods would void warranty.

I basically think he was telling me that if I had the '06 lights installed nobody would know or question it and just do warranty work on it. If the warranty applied of course.

ok, question Zoom: no mods to the light assemblies meaning no upgraded fog bulbs? or just having aftermarket D2S bulbs??

as for me, i'll be buying the headlights assemblies without the bulbs (cheaper) and will be buying the 6000K D2S aftermarket bulbs(around $100).

so if one just burns out i'll just buy another set of bulbs. But if it happens often, i'll try and get the OEM D2S bulbs, and just take it in for warranty work.

i wouldn't really think we'll need warranty work in the first place for the headlight assemblies, unless the ballast goes out. But that wouldn't happen for quite a while.

thanks for the info on Santa Monica Infiniti though

Everything would have to be stock for them to do warranty work. That means no aftermarket bulbs or anything like that.

Check on ebay for D2S HID lights and you'll find plenty. Many of them are of questionable manufacturers but from what I hear from others they work as advertised.

ichibahn - ebay is your friend. just like Zoomzoomers said, they might be questionable but if you search and know your stuff, you'll know what to look out for and you'll get a good deal
