Just got my winter set up.
Toyo GaritHT
225/50/17 front
225/55/17 rear
17" x 7.5" five spoke Fast wheels
They look great and diameters are dead on stock with 19" stock rims

I am running into the most horrible rims on tirerack for 17" winter tires. I want the ASA JH3's but tirerack does not show it for the 05 6MT's. ASA's are decent looking cheap rims out there.

Here are some questions for 05 6MT owners who have a winter setup:

1. What rims are you using? Please specify brand and sizes.
2. What tires are you using? Please specify brand and sizes.
3. Does staggered fit matter?
4. You think buying 19"s Snow Blizzak LM 25's and putting them on stock rims be advisable? They cost about $914.

Would appreciate your response.

I literally just finished putting the 17" ASA JH3's on my 04 6MT with Brembo's. I also did not get staggered. I did go with the 225/50/17 front and 225/55/17 in the rear...but that is not really necessary...you could probably go with 225/50/17 all around. Went with Dunlop Wintersport's, but I can't tell you how they compare until we get a good dumping of snow. After quick drive they seem pretty good snow and ice tires though. I've always used Blizzaks, but I've heard good things about the dunlop's.

Great thing about this package is that you pay just over 1000 for a dedicated winter set. I'd rather keep my stock wheels for summer. 17's will save you money in the long run.

Thats a lie considering i'm running them with absolutly no problems.

I using OEM 17" '04 wheels bought from the for sale forum here and Blizzak WS-50's all around. We just had our first few inches of snow here in WI and even the stock 19's with OEM rubber weren't TOO bad.

I've got the OEM '04 17" rubber with about 2k miles on them if anyone is interested.

I just bought a set of 18" O.Z. Superleggera wheels w/ Dunlop Winter sport M3 tires from a local supplier for around $1800. I live in RI so snow tires are a must. I am going to put them on this week. They won't look as good as the OEM 19's but it shouldn't look too bad.
