I have a feeling the new 2007 G35 is going to be a big improvement!

pop099: I can't understand why people are trying to compare the new IS to the g35 coupe.... i'm sure the IS is a good car, but it's a 4 door, big difference between a 2 door.

Everyone keeps saying this about the IS, but like it or not it is the G35s direct competitor along with the 3 series. The G, IS and 3 are all sport sedans/low end luxury. The IS will be released as a 2 door and so will the new 3. All 3 cars will be 4 door or 2 door. Also, ask any Infiniti salesman and he will say the IS and 3 are its biggest competitors with the A4 far behind them. Ask any Lexus salesman and he will say the same thing about the G and 3 series. So stop telling everyone to not compare the G to the IS or 3.

You guys know that you can turn the instrument lights down to a more tolerable level right? I love driving with them practically off, and if cruising on a long drive--off! If you don't know your relative speed by engine sound and gear then you need not be driving (applies more to 6MT owners of course).

Anyway--lighter weight or more power or both. The new freakin Eclipse pushes 260 something and weighs less...now entry level cars are catching up? They need to fix that somehow.

My guesses for the 2007 G35 Coupe:

Exterior will be quite a bit more aggressive and meaner looking
Interior will be vastly redesigned with A/C seats available
Will have approx. 320 HP

I agree that the "orange" lighting is nice. My 350Z I had before the G-coupe also had the same color guages as well as my X5 and 330i before that....never noticed it being harsh on the eyes and it supports the sporty nature of the cars. Wish they had lighted seat and sun roof controls though..also a lighted button for the home-link...I keep hitting the wrong buttom to open my door.
My dealer said the 2007 is supposed to be the premier of a hart-top convertible G coupe with minimal design changes. That'd be sweet.

I would like to see a low tire pressure light that tells you which actual tire is low instead of having to guess..

Memory wheel/mirrors/seats would be nice
part time AWD like the sedan would be cool too

We already have that...

I kinda like the stock orange, but I wouldn't mind a blue or purple like the Acura RLs.

Since my next car will probably be a sedan, I really hope it's time for a complete overhaul...

I love the G as a whole, but there is no way I'd buy a 2007 sedan in its current body form. I've already looked at the Lexus and while it's quite nice (to say the least), the IS250 suffers from lack of power, and the 350 is just waay overpriced. As far as Bimmers go, they're nice - nothing more, nothing less. I was never a big fan of them anyways. I don't believe in paying extra $$$ just for a badge (that isn't what it used to be anyways).

All in all, I think I'll stick with the G for the next redesign. I just hope it'll happen sooner than later.

ok... what logic do you use to think that infiniti would ever make a g45 besides a GTR? Makes no sense to put a V8 in an entry luxury car.

I think the red/white gauges on the Audi's are the best. ..but the gauges on the IS350 are very nice as well--white/blue, and especially when the needles make a full circle when you start up the car.

Anyway, the IS350 is pretty fast for an auto.. We'll have to wait and see till they release a 6mt version along with other improvements. The interior is FAR better than the G35.. at least a lot better than the 03-04's. The steering wheel/handing feels nice. The white led lighting is a nice touch as well. I bet it'll look 10x better once they're modded.

Stock for stock, I think the G35 looks nicer, but once modded, I think the IS350 has the upper hand. My only complaint on the IS350 is the rear end, they could've made it a little longer, and the front end could've been designed a little nicer.

My 10 cents,
Jeff
