I have a feeling the new 2007 G35 is going to be a big improvement!

I think Infiniti is feeling the heat from the new IS350 and are pushing the new 2007 G35 ahead of schedule. The interior of the current Gs are clearly not as nice as the IS and I think they feel the need to upgrade it considerably (i.e. STOP USING ORANGE GAUGES!!!). It is also abvious that they had a good thing going with the current Gs and wont change the overall design of the car too much. Nissan makes much better performing cars than Toyota and I belive that will show once again with the 2007s. I don't think a V8 is in store for the G (i.e. g45) cuz its a low end luxury car. You dont see the 3 series available with a V8 or the IS, so i highly doubt infiniti would do this. If they keep the current 3.5 V6 it must have some structural changes to increase performance since the current Gs are tuned very high, any more would drop the MPG dramatically. I think possibly a 3.8 V6?

My only concern is if the coupe will come out for 2007 and will it be available in a MT6.

What are your thoughts on the changes that need to be made and which ones will actually be made?

.e. STOP USING ORANGE GAUGES
The orange gauges are on of the most beauty color for many cars such as BMW and old Benz. I don't know what r u talking about. My brother has an M3 and he loves my car and the way it looks. It’s enough for me when people who have Benz give me thumbs up and telling me that my car looks sweet. And i'm still believe that the G looks better than the new IS350.

Orange is the easiest on the eyes during night driving. It take less time for your eyes to readjust after glancing down @ the gauges. There's really no need to increase engine size to get more power. I would much rather they do direct injection or variable valve timing and lift. Even a VQ32VE would be nice. Similar tq down low but be able to make power to 7500-8000RPM would be better.

Yeah, I actually like the orange gauges as well. It's almost as easy to focus on as red without the feel of red.

What I would like to see is a different vent design in the interior. The current one is cool, but I've never been in a G (I've driven two sedans and two coupes) that didn't have squeaks and rattles coming from the vents. The current power is adequate for me since I don't want to get worse mileage. Maybe they can add newer technology such as direct injection to boost power and fuel efficiency. Both cars can stand to lose some weight as well. As for styling, I'd favor an evolutionary design instead of something drastic.

Orange Lights

I'm with you on the orange gauge lights. I've had two benz's in the past and they are totally different in regards to the orange gauges. Well for me anyway, i can say i do a lot of night driving and have found the G's gauges to be very straining on my eyes. Maybe i'm just a freak, but compared the other cars i've owned, particularly the benz's, they are considerably more straining. I actually have gotten where I turn the gauge lights completely off on long trips and rely on my Garmin I-que for speed/indication...

I really don't see anything special about the new IS350, let's be honest it looks like new improved Acura TSX, I don't think Infiniti has to worry about new IS at all, i drove the new Is350 it may have 306hp but, it certainly doesn't feel that fast anyways i just hope by 07/ Infiniti came out with G45 coupe...

Haven't driven the IS350 but I've seen three of them (all black) and the look isn't doing for me. One was parked so I had a pretty good look at it. The interior has a nice setup. It looks good. The outside, well, I have to agree with G35Shawn. It looks like a TXS or even a Fixed up Civic on the front and the rear looks like they chopped it off to save weight. Well, I think the orange guages and black background look good. It even matches the sticthing and the black leather on the steering. I guess it is all preference on color.

Does anyone know for sure if the 07 GTR is going to be an Infiniti product and not a Nissan product? Or maybe there will be 2 version of it like the 350Z/G35 coupe.

I too looked at the IS250/350 and it was cheap looking on the inside and just didnt have the look the G has. Also the IS350 has no stick! stupid. I don't understand that marketing technique at all. Lexus did the same thing when the IS300 was released. then later made a stick version.

I think the orange gauges look great. Its infiniti's trademark color. The IS's interior lighting is grose. Its green..... Bmw has orange-red lighting and it also looks good

I have to agree, the orange/amber is nice, and like mentioned before, easier on the eyes. I hope they don't change it and make it green, LOL, if I wanted green I'd buy another Mustang GT. BTW, saw an IS on the road yesterday, and it's still too small IMO. The IS 300 was a toy car.
