Redlining?
Redlining?
So after having my 03 G for a week now, I decided to let it loose for a little. I turned left on a street and floored it. It was "barely" wet outside but my tires still spun, actually fast enough to reach redline before I knew it. Now my question is, once I reached redline, right before I switched gears, I felt the car "pause" for a second. Was that possibly the VDC (from my tires spinning) or is there something on the engine to govern the rpms?
Pretty sure its the red-line limiter (kicks in between 6500 and 7000). Your VDC should have kicked in BEFORE that, it's usually very quick to slow your wheel spin (but I don't think drop engine RPM) as soon as it feels a slip.
You could not have been spinning or the VDC would have activated quickly after the car started spinning, and your slip light would have came on. You would also feel the power bog.
It's likely the rev limiter which comes on about 6600 rpm
