Question about Coupes from Newbie

Hey guys i'm a newbie to this website and i'm picking up my 04 G35 Coupe next week and I was wondering if anyone on this site has a childs car seat in there G35? If you do how does it fit? My daughter is 2 years old and I was just curious if her seat would fit back there

yeah...i've seen people w/ it
if you want to protect the leather from scratching, etc...you should get something under the child's seat.

Car seats definitely fit. I have a 2004 6MT and put 2 in the back (booster seat for my 5 year old and a standard car seat for my 3 year old). FYI - I sometimes have a problem with the seatbelt. If you pull it out all of the way when putting the kid in the car, it "locks" and if it is threaded through the carseat, it doesn't retract all of the way and it gets stuck.

I've put my 7 month niece in the back and the only thing I'd have to recommend is to have those latches. You know your vehicle is equipped to handle those latches when you see this circular sticker with a babyseat symbol. Here's an example...

Not all types of seats fit. Some are too wide for the seat area. Your best bet is to go to the Infiniti website, there's a list of child seats models that will fit properly. There are also special pads to protect the leather available in baby stores.

You realize you're going to have to go with lightweight 17" wheels to compensate for the weight of the baby?

While never having used a baby seat (not yet anyway... thank you, condoms) from having to fold down the front seats to put anything of any size back there and to take it out is... a horror. However, once it's in there, it should be just fine.

I've had one in the backseat for my son for about 3 months now. When my daughter was born, the hospital gave us a free one that matches the stone interior good enough, so I added padding to make it comfortable. I did place a towel under it to protect the leather. My 3 1/2 yr. old son loves cruising with me. Even though I had a 468ci '55 Chevy Bel Air 2-door hardtop, he still thinks the G is like a race car. Here's a pic of his first ride in it. He was just over 3 at the time.

I really considered the Recarro booster seat for my G, but just couldn't justify cost (with the addded cost of trying to match the fabric to the Stone). I may end up doing this when it's time to move him to a real booster seat, I may not. Now that the windows are tinted, you can't even see it in there unless you get right up on the side windows and look into the back seat. That's why I just leave it in there. Besides, when he's not with me it gives me a place to set stuff that I don't want on the leather or that I don't want rolling around.

I hate it when my wife sits in the rear with our 1 yr. old baby girl. A lot of cool points are lost and I feel like a damn chauffeur. Good thing I just got the limo tint last weekend on the rear and back side windows.

I have 2 boys- 2 and 4. One in a booster, other in a car seat- both fit with no problem. A little tough cleaning the finger prints off the rear windows, though.

They love riding in Dad's black "Batmobile"... Have fun!
