Coupe Rear Seat
Coupe Rear Seat
I absolutely must have a 6 speed G35 coupe as my next car. Only problem is that we've got 2 little ones -- 3 and 1/2 years and 10 months.
Would the back seat accomodate car seats (or a car seat and booster??)

Re: Coupe Rear Seat
I'm in the same situation as you. I have a 5 year old and one due next month. I was going to get a sedan but after seeing the coupe I changed my mind, fast. Who needs legroom when their little legs don't even touch the floor? Just went today to check the coupe out again and the back seat has plenty of room to accomodate car seats.

Re: Coupe Rear Seat
Just remember those front seats are slow to motor forward. And neither the seatback tilt nor the seat return to their previous setting: it must be readjusted each time. Maybe a small price to pay for the Coupe or a major hassle if you have to do it many times a day.
Good Luck,

I would get the sedan. I have both and getting the kids in and out of the back of the coupe can be apain compaired to the sedan.

As long as you have a second car that accomidates the car seat more often than when you drive the Coupe. I'm getting a coupe and we have a child due next month as well. We also bought a Durango back in Oct. and that will be the main baby hauler. So it should be fine as long as it is a secondary kid carrier.
Re: Coupe Rear Seat
I don't have a child yet, but we are planning on having one and I can tell you right now that the coupe will be the baby hauler. The thing is that I always loved sports cars and refuse to buy a sedan, too familyish. I really want the 350z badly, but I know that when the day comes that a kid arrives, the 350z will only be for occasional drives alone, and that's not fun. So my sacrifice (which is not a bad one), is to go with the 4-seater version of the 350z, which is the G35 coupe.
So you have to keep playing with the seats, no big deal. That's a small price to pay for having a sportier car. And don't fool yourself, the sedan is a sedan, more practical, but a FAR cry away from being sport, at least compared to the coupe. With a lower stance, larger wheels, beefed up suspension, more hp & torque, we are talking sport here.
Worst case scenario, try the coupe out and if it becomes a pain, then do what everyone else does, take the plunge and get the minivan (yuck). That's when you rip your manhood parts right off and throw it out the window.
Good luck in your decision (watch the swinging pendulum, you will fall into a deep sleep, now repeat these words when you go to the dealer, coupe, coupe, coupe....)

Re: Coupe Rear Seat
Minivans in general yes they Suck. But have you driven a 2003 Honda Odysee? Oh my god, my roommate got one (he does not hav e a family but he drives with alot of passangers) at first I was like, are you nuts? Then I rode in it and drove it. that VAN can really freaking move. He raced and almost beat a Pontiac Grand Prix with Supercharger. I was amazed at what it could do. So dont go knocking all minivans. Most but not all! I told him he needs to drop a few grand in it, get a hid Conversion, some exhaust work, and a Turbo in it and really freak some people out
BTW it has the same tranny and Engine as the V6 Accord!

Re: Coupe Rear Seat
We have a 2002 Nissan Quest as the "people mover", so I am encouraged that the g35 coupe could accomodate the ocassional trip with the kids.
Now if I can only get the wife to agree to the 6 speed...

Give me a freaking break! You don't have kids yet so you don't have ANY idea of what you are talking about. I've got 2 kids and a big dog and my Odyssey is an awesome people mover, grocery getter and Home Depot runner. Try lifting 2 kids into the back of the coupe several times a day and you'll wish you had a sedan or minivan! That's why I have a G35 coupe and a minivan!
As for a sedan being too familyish...tell that to an M5 owner.

Re: Coupe Rear Seat
I have a 2 1/2 year old. The whole reason we got the g35c is cause my wife wouldn't allow me to get a 2 seater. Went to the car show and behold an answer for both of us.
I neatly put out a towel to cover the nice leather, and stick my sons car seat in. No problem I just use the seat belt, pull it all the way out till it locks, then pull it till the seat is in tite. I haven't used the car seat ancors. I guess you can turn your first aid kit holder into a 3rd seat using the baby seat ancors.
