Not trying to start a war here, but ARE YOU KIDDING?

The clutch in my '03 Cobra was about 5 times as heavy as the clutch in my '04 G35!!!!

Are you sure this wasn't aftermarket stuff we are comapring this to? Because there is NO WAY that this statement is true, unless you drove a G35 with serious clutch issues or an aftermarket clutch....

Can't speak to the '04 but my '05 clutch is about as light as they come. I believe my left calf grew about a 1/2" because of the pedal effort on my '02 M3. Thank God I live and work in the country, because I couldn't imagine driving my M3 is stop and go traffic.

I drove the LS2 Goat when checking out cars before my G purchase. The car is fast (notice I did not say "very fast") but there is something about it I do not like. It felt loose and shaky and by reading reviews I understand it has severe suspension problems. The struts can blow up and leak hot oil all over melting liners and other soft parts.

I considered it because I like it but lets face it, it is a very (notice I did say "very" this time) dull car. I would stick to the G and maybe wait for the 08 to get something different. If you really like the LS2 engine just get the corvette. I have driven that car also ans in the corvette the LS2 seems MUCH more responsive. Maybe is tuned differently. Just my 2c.

I know vortech makes a kit for it that pushes the HP over 550HP.
Any thought? Am I crazy?

depends on what you want. if all you're looking for is power then definately go with the GTO. if you want a little more refinement stick with the G.

Grew up with American V-8 power...yes nice and do sometimes miss it, but the G has superior handling compared to what you're considering.

The G will get owned on long straights, but the G will prevail every time through the turns.

It's all what's most important to you and what you want to get out of your driving experience and/or pleasure.

Personally, I rather have something that holds the turns and I can always pump up the VQ to stay competitive in the straights with hp/tq and acceleration.

It may be cool now but it's an American made piece of junk and in a few years when the thing sounds like it's falling aprat as you drive down the road, you will wonder what the hell you did. It's sad to say. I have tried and tried to buy American but I keep getting sorely disappointed by the quality. They just don't last anymore. I think they are designed and built to last until you want something new... a few years. Because American auto makers know that is how American's think. Or perhaps they are just junk because they simply are... either way, I have temporarily given up on owning an American made car newer than 1970. I have a 55 Buick and that car is as solid as granite. Do you think that the GTO will be as solid in 50+ years? Ha!

Werd. American cars are shiet. I really wish then would change but doesnt seem like they will. Seems like your trying to sell the G to buy just any other car, going off the last few threads. Your going to take a bath on the G and if you buy the GTO your sure to take a bath on that as well. I say just keep the G. Ive also come to terms and Im just going to keep mine.

Yeah, the Ford GT is a pile of crap... so are all Ford F-series trucks, they really suck and are horrible.../sarcasm

There are plenty of great American cars/trucks.
