Transmission/clutch
Why should you replace the clutch when you get a replacement transmission? I had my transmission replaced due to 5 gear grind and when I asked the dealer if they replaced the clutch he said no it looked fine. Now 2 weeks later the clutch feels real loose only a 1/2 inch push on the clutch pedal to shift doesn't feel right should be at least 2-3 inches Called dealer and scheduled to have it looked at this week. What should I know about having the clutch replaced with transmission replacement? just want to be prepared
Thanks

The main idea to save on the labor. 99% of the labor charged for replacing the clutch is taking out the tranny. When you replace the tranny, it only makes sense to change the clutch unless of course it is brand new. If it is half way worn or more, I would just replace it to save on labor.

Others have had the same questions about clutch replacement with new tranny. Do a search and you will find a bunch of info. Here is one to get you started ....

Hope this helps... good luck!! I am going to have my tranny looked at in the next few weeks. I'm trying to coordinate it so I can leave it while I am on a business trip.
