Rear suspension

I came out to my car at lunch yesterday to noctice my rear driver's side tire to be and inch closer to wheel well than the rest of the other tires. I did the finger test and could fit 3 easily on passenger side and barely 2 on drivers side. i heard a slight knocking sound when i drove it around block so i took it to dealership today to get it checked out. I live in metro detroit area and the roads here suck c*ck and the guy said if its cuz i hit a pothole then its not covered. so can i argue my case or am i basically screwed? i baby the heck outta my car so i would definately know if i hit a pothole.

A pothole will not break an axle. If you launch the car 5 feet in the air you have a chance of something breaking. That is BS that the dealer is trying to make you pay for it. If you have problems getting them to fix it under warranty go to the next dealership and try again.

I know what you mean about the roads there. Worst I can remember driving on. I had a rental last fall there and I was actually afraid that big Impala was going to bottom out on some of those craters especially on some of the exit ramps.

Dude if it was a pothole you would have totally wrecked your tire and rim before breaking any suspension parts. Don't let them tell you any different.

yea so i pick up the car from dealership yesterday and they say there was a tsb for rear axle noise, and they just greased it up and slapped it back on. They guy also said they measured the distance between tires and wheel well on both sides and everything was the same. So when i looked at it again, it was even, but who knows what can happen later? i just hope i dont have to go back in there and say "i told you so" after they tow my car out of a ditch.

Well at least its fixed for now. I hate dealerships, always trying to screw you big time. Looking for the cheap way out.
