what the spacer made out of ? aluminum or some other type of material? I can not tell from the picture.

Did you do any modifications to the ECU?

Tony
are you still able to use the infiniti engine cover with either spacer or does it have to be removed in order to clear the hood?

- aluminum
- no
1/2" may rub a little, I run w/o cover which also helps keep things cooler.

I'm using the copper Iso thermal spacer.
which is for colder climates.
This keeps the throtle body cool & allows enough heat to keep from freezing in winter.

pic of iso gasket & pic of copper iso.

thanks for the info. what size spacer do you have?

I might do the spacer but i dunno if the thermal spacer is worth it. I would like to see some temp ratings with before and after or some dyno numbers with and without it.

I know HONDATA had a similar product for my Prelude and they were reporting a temperature drop of 20 degrees or about few HP gain. But the gasket was made out of plastic(some sort of high temp material)

how hard was the install and how much (if you dont mind me asking)?
A reflash is not required.

And the Iso Thermal system is a way to cut off the high heat transfer rates to the plenum. There are 2 basic sources.

To find out the details of how it works, check out this thread. It explains everything about how they work.

i notice people said that on the Z you cant use the strut bar with the 1/2 spacer.

How does the 1/2 spacer fit on the G35 with the engine cover or is the engine cover no longer used?

With the 1/2" spacer the cover is generally no longer used.
In the sedan you can use it most of the time, but with the coup, only in a few rare cases will it fit the cover.

its not that i wouldnt post the results. but the problem is that living in NYC you dont have too many shops that have dynos and those that do, charge an arm and a leg to do pulls.

I think the closest dyno to me charging something like 150+ to do pulls and its dynojet if i'm not mistaken.

PLus i already have Ztube, open airbox, test pipes, exhaust on the car, so i dont know what the numbers will show. PLus i never did a comparison dyno from stock to now. I would be happy if i knew that i got at least 10whp. or at least close to it.

I personally wont buy another plenum..knowing that all it does is the same
as a spacer..

just my 2 cents. . .
unless if you wanna tell the world that you have sth under you hood
